The current gulf in quality between Arsenal and Liverpool was best evidenced before a ball was even kicked at the Emirates. While the hosts’ bench was stacked with an array of talent, which included summer acquisitions Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, Liverpool’s most experienced attacking threat was Federico Chiesa, who has played just 228 minutes in the top flight this season.
Admittedly, injuries are not helping Liverpool’s cause. Ekitike failed the battle to be fit in time for Thursday’s game, while Salah will return from the Africa Cup of Nations later this month.
But, with British-record signing Alexander Isak expected to be sidelined for several months with a broken tibia and ankle and center back Giovanni Leoni set to be out of action until next season, Liverpool could really benefit from some reinforcements in both defense and attack.
Despite their heavy summer spending spree, the champions lack the depth of their Premier League rivals, an issue that has only been exacerbated by the sight of right back Bradley being stretchered off the pitch in stoppage time. A couple of new additions this month could help spark their stuttering campaign into life.”

Arteta infuriates me sometimes in all honesty. Here we had a team away struggling by their standards, no attakers no Salah, no Entike, no Isak and yet he fields such a defensive midfield.
Look before anyone attacks me I get it Zubimendi, Rice, Odeggard have been on good form are reliable and safe great players but you’ve got to go for it Liverpool at home terrible defence record of late no attackers so why is he waiting until 77 minutes to bring on Eze, or why not trust Nwaneri, I mean I’m sorry for the unpopular opinion but Arteta is just too negative and can not win big games when it truly counts in Silverware fact
Also Saka was brilliant first half but second half he faded, you could see he was tiring, bring on Madueke sooner as the minute we did Arsenal livened up again. Bad tactics in my opinion did not help us yesterday.
Now getting on to Gyokeres I’ve tried defending him but yesterday three times that ball was driven across the 6 yard box, we have used the players don’t play him when open excuse, well Gyokeres needs to do better, his positioning stinks it really does, I don’t care what style an out and out striker is playing with that should be bread and butter for a goalscorer.
Just to add I think some are reading this comment completely wrong. I’m not saying drop Odegaard Rice and Zubi and play both Nwaneri and Eze together but just feel Eze should of atleast started of atleast had more than 13 minutes.

I think Arteta knows that this team is very much capable of throwing away the leaugue. Last night was a test, and they failed that test. That chance at the end, that chance goes in, they win the leaugue. Now, I’m not so sure.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Arsenal dating back to them winning the title beating Liverpool courtesy of Michael Thomas etc but I’d love them to blow it..
Why?
The level of ‘we’ve done it’ foregone conclusion from their fans and the media is ridiculous.
I’m trying to think which player I’d love to have a stevie g slip moment to throw it away.
It’s a tough one because I don’t particularly dislike any of them. Maybe Martinelli for being a bell last night

Liverpool went away to the leaders, had their three biggest attacking threats not playing but “need to do better” while dominating much of the game after a terrible run of form, and having two valid penalty shouts turned down? 😂
Liverpool did as well as they could have under the circumstances.

Of course they’re in control, they’re 6 points clear and a draw against 4th place is hardly an awful result is it
