Daniel Farke is set to drop Lucas Perri from the Leeds United starting lineup against Derby County in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Pride Park Stadium will host Farke’s team on 11 January, with the Whites surely looking to go far in the competition after their recent upturn in form.
Leeds lost 4-3 against Newcastle United in the Premier League on 7 January, as the West Yorkshire outfit gave up their lead thrice.
Farke subsequently called out Perri for his performance at St James’ Park, and it looks like the German manager hasn’t been impressed by the goalkeeper’s recent performances.
Karl Darlow to replace Lucas Perri in Derby County vs Leeds United
Farke has confirmed Darlow will start for Leeds against Derby, replacing Perri in goal.
BBC Sport journalist Adam Pope shared comments from the German manager during his pre-match press conference on 8 January, with the Brazilian shot-stopper being publicly called out.
When Farke was asked whether he was concerned about the 28-year-old’s form, he said that the goalkeeper needed to step up.
The 49-year-old head coach has acknowledged that the former Olympique Lyon star is still adapting to life in the Premier League, but fans in LS11 rightly expect more from him.

Darlow will now get his opportunity to convince Farke, with the Wales international coming into the starting lineup towards the end of last season after Illan Meslier was dropped due to his consistent mistakes in between the sticks.
Daniel Farke to open doors for player exit at Elland Road as new signing may be needed
Farke has said Meslier is still part of his plans, but the German manager may have to open the doors for his exit.
The French goalkeeper is effectively the third choice, and while keeping him wouldn’t be the worst thing, the 25-year-old’s exit could potentially open the door to strengthening the goalkeeping department.

If Farke has lost faith in Perri, it would make sense to sign a new shot-stopper in January, given Darlow’s flaws during his run in the team this season.
The West Yorkshire outfit can’t afford to drop points as they fight a relegation battle, and the Brazil national’s errors may come back to haunt them.
