In December, RomaSport reported Watford could soon land AS Roma’s Edoardo Bove. Now, Everton are also a possible destination for the midfielder.

During a loan at Fiorentina, the Italian had collapsed on the pitch during a game against Inter Milan. After confirmations regarding a cardiac arrest, Bove had a defibrillator inserted but regulations in Serie A don’t allow him to play in Italy.

Similar to Christian Eriksen, he isn’t able to play in Italy due to his Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD).

Il Messaggero today cover the 23-year-old’s situation and his impending Roma contract termination.

Edoardo Bove keen on return

The player is keen on returning to action as soon as possible, and Everton and Watford have now come forward to sign him.

Dutch clubs are also keeping an eye on the player, but Bove could prefer a Christian Eriksen-like route to resurrect his career.

Both Watford and Everton have obvious Italian connections. The Toffees share Roma’s Friedkin ownership and their presence can make it easy for the Giallorossi to let the midfielder depart.

Even if the Hornets are in the Championship, Bove wouldn’t mind trying his luck there to prove himself in England.

Watford’s interest is also highlighted by today’s Gazzetta dello Sport.

The pink daily claim that the club have made ‘insistent’ offers for him.

Sunderland and Nottingham Forest are also watching the situation.
