Tottenham Hotspur are a club under huge pressure at present, with new boss Thomas Frank currently being unable to take the club to the next level under his guidance.
The Dane has only been able to lead the Lilywhites to 14th in the Premier League table, only a couple of places higher than the finish that cost Ange Postecoglou his job.
Wednesday’s defeat against Bournemouth extended the club’s run to just one win in six matches, highlighting the struggles currently being endured in North London.
The hierarchy will no doubt be frustrated with the lack of impact after the manager’s summer arrival, which could leave them with a huge call to make in the months ahead.
However, with the January transfer window now in full swing, it presents the perfect opportunity for the hierarchy to back Frank and hand him the resources he needs for success.
Spurs leading race to land £100m Premier League star
After their previous attempt to sign him in the summer, Spurs have once again registered interest in a deal to land Manchester City star Savinho this January.
The Brazilian has struggled for minutes in the 2025/26 campaign, as seen by his tally of just five starts under Pep Guardiola, which has led to links over a move away from the Etihad once again.

However, any deal could now appear trickier than first expected, with the winger set to miss at least the next six weeks after picking up a fresh injury setback.
He’s not the only Premier League attacker currently in their sights at present, with West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen another option being considered by the Lilywhites hierarchy.
According to one Spanish outlet, the Spurs are said to be in pole position to sign the England winger for Frank’s men this window, as they look to take advantage of the Hammers’ lowly league standing.
The report also states that Frank’s men are looking at proven options in England’s top-flight to catapult them up the table, with Bowen seen as the perfect option.

However, any deal would likely be an expensive one for the attacker, especially considering other outlets have reported Nuno Espírito Santo’s men are demanding around £100m for his signature.
Why Bowen would be Frank’s next Mbeumo at Spurs
During Frank’s time at Brentford, he was able to rely upon numerous impressive attacking options, which no doubt aided his attempts for success in the Premier League.
One of the players he was able to call upon during such a period across the capital was Bryan Mbeumo, with the Cameroonian international becoming one of the division’s shining lights.
During their last campaign together in 2024/25, the 26-year-old managed to register 20 goals in the league, subsequently ending the season as just one of five players to achieve such a feat.
As a result, the Dane attempted to bring the winger to North London after his appointment at Spurs, even reportedly making a bid for his services at one stage.
However, Mbeumo decided to make the move to Old Trafford and join Manchester United instead, putting a swift end to any hope of a reunion with his former manager.
Such a move would have been a bitter blow to Frank, but he could be about to land his next version of the attacker this winter, especially if the hierarchy complete a deal for Bowen.

The Englishman possesses a very similar skillset of cutting in off the right-hand side onto his favoured left-foot – something which has seen the West Ham star catch the eye in recent years.
However, when comparing his stats to those of Mbeumo this campaign, he’s managed to outperform in numerous key areas – arguably being a better version of Cameroonian for Frank.
Bowen, who’s been dubbed “world-class” by Ian Wright, has registered the same tally of goals ad assists this season, but has posted a better goal per shot on target rate than the United star in the league.
Such numbers showcase that the England international is arguably more clinical with the opportunities he’s presented with – something which the Lilywhites have lacked throughout 2025/26.

His dominance over Mbeumo is further reflected in his higher tally of progressive carries and carries into the opposition box per 90, subsequently showcasing the threat he carries with the ball at his feet.
Bowen has also achieved a greater take-on success rate this campaign to date, further reaffirming that he’s a much better option in possession than the former Brentford star.
However, he’s also been able to add the end product when getting into dangerous areas of the pitch, as demonstrated by his higher tally of crosses completed per 90.
West Ham’s £100m asking price is nothing short of absurd, but there’s no doubt the Lilywhites would be able to negotiate a cheaper fee given their lowly league standing.
Should he move to North London and have the same impact as Mbeumo under Frank, the club would be getting a phenomenal talent who could catapult them up the table in the months ahead.
