      Is our club opposed to paying a fee for him after what happened in the last transfer window? Now we’re risking losing out on him entirely cause we want him on a free

      Pretty simple:

      If he is the main target, fuck the plan for summer. Get him in now. Losing the main target is not worth being so rigid

      If they are comfortable on options for summer? Wait it out.

      I’d still get a CB in now

      At this point we need to just overpay and make sure we get him ASAP. It’ll be worth it just to make sure we strengthen ourselves and stop our rivals from getting him. I do feel like we are best placed to offer him a starting role so hopefully that is something he takes into account. We also had full agreement in the summer so that hopefully counts for something. He wouldn’t even have to do another media day or signing video.

      Honestly my overall thoughts about this whole saga is just fuck Glasner. Acted like a little bitch in the summer and now backtracking on everything because he’s leaving and doesn’t give a shit what happens.

      Strikes me as a smoke-out piece from his agent to get someone to make a decision. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Arsenal though, means he doesn’t need to relocate etc etc.

      Why would he go to Arsenal to compete with 8 other senior CBs? Unless Arteta wants to play him as a winger I guess.

      I figured we weren’t getting him after missing out in the summer and will still be shocked if we do. I guess our transfer team thought we had this one in the bag no matter what during the summer.

      I just cannot understand the logic behind waiting for a player who FSG were willing to pay *more* for in August.  Guehi was literally part of our summer plans and CPFC backed out.  I can understand not wanting to get into an outrageous bidding war with City if they do something financially irresponsible, but the Guehi $$ should already be considered money spent

      I sometimes don’t understand this club at all. There is no other CB in the market rn that can give you a guaranteed immediate impact also being the country’s best defender. Stupid of Hughes to let go of this deal. Is there any other reason we are not paying up for him? Maybe he isn’t top on our list?

      Just go and get him now. We need him and he clearly wants to come.

      The way Arsenal & City be stockpiling players is borderline ridiculous. Everyone talks about our spending last summer but we actually have to sell to do this, these guys just buy, buy, buy with no one leaving.

      While it’s true we got royally fucked by Glasner (who seems to be leaving anyway), we really should still try and get Guehi and sooner rather than later. I can understand not anticipating that City would have an injury crisis and looking to spend, but if anything that should be the thing that motivates us to move for him now

      If they had to choose who to sell him to now, they would pick Arsenal over us, considering they screwed us on the last day. Then again, if it’s just about the money, we won’t outbid MC.
