Berta needs to go to Steve Parrish’s house right now and make a back door deal with them. This is honestly something Berta would do

Small fee in June — not £30m (like what Liverpool/City are offering now), but high enough to entice Palace to keep him till the end of the season and he goes to us on a free transfer. They get to keep their captain + best defender till end of the season but will still get a fee.
    – like what Madrid paid to Liverpool for Trent for registering him for the CWC

We can give them Dowman on loan as well 🤝

  2. Think some people owe John Cross an apology tbh lmao

Having said that, I do really like Guehi but I can’t see where he’d fit in to get regular game time at Arsenal so I think he’d be a bit crazy to make that choice but Arteta knows better than me so bring him in.

  3. So if we keep Hincapiè, does that mean head be a permanent LB or are we playing 3 at the back?

  4. Mosquera

    Nichols – Salmon – Guehi – Hincapie

    Timber – Saliba – MLS

    White – Gabriel – Calafiori

  5. lewis skelly to midfield. Guehi and mosquera back up centre backs. Surely guehi is too good though to not be first choice?

Does this mean Skelly returns to midfield and Hincapie as LB if we secure Guehi?

  7. Very interesting. Would want it done just to slight City if anything. Hard to see is being enticing for the player though since he’ll most definitely not be a nailed on starter.

  8. We’re in a new era of football. Its not a question of how many games anymore. There are tons of fixtures each season and injuries happen here and there. Players are gonna get minutes and Arsenal is a great club to be at.

*Arteta leans in, folds hands on table* It’s very simple Marc. We are trying to build Marvel’s Defenders here and we think you fit the profile.

Can’t see it. He’ll get significantly bigger wages and play time guarantees elsewhere.

Great player but really not required imo.

Force City into overpaying, or sign the player ourselves. Arteta is a genius.

  12. We already have four central defenders (and Hincapie is more or less a confirmed permanent signing given the nature of the loan) and I can’t imagine we are selling any of them.

So I don’t get the play here unless it’s just to make city panic and spend an extra few million to get it done now.

From Guehi’s perspective too, we are the one club where he doesn’t walk straight into the first XI so again, don’t really see what the point is.

  13. Just give him a decent contract and signing bonus and block him from going to 115 FC. Will mean they’ll have to pay more and probably abroad. They’re moving scummy in the window with the Semenyo BS so let’s go equally “smart”.

  14. Makes me think they see Hincapie as a LB long term and will do something else with MLS

  15. For a club that values inclusivity like Arsenal I don’t see a guy who refuses to wear a rainbow armband is really a good fit. Especially when we already are stacked with quality defenders already.

  16. At this point i wouldnt surprised if we signed him just make sure man city stay crippled at CB

  17. That move with the armband and the way he tried to pull the wool over people’s eyes about his motives really put me off him. Sure, we don’t know our players personally, but it would be nice not to bring in players of very blatantly questionable character
