Naomi Dann, the other half of Newcastle United goal hero Harvey Barnes wasn’t at St James’ for the thrilling win over Leeds

She might have been missing from the stands of St James’ Park to witness the incredible scenes when he scored a VERY late winner as Newcastle beat Leeds 4-3 on Wednesday night, Harvey Barnes‘ other half Naomi Dann was glued to the match at home. And she posted a reaction that pretty much summed up the emotions of every Magpies fan when the ball hit the back of the net in the 112th minute.
After getting back on track in the league towards the end of the festive period, with an away win at Turf Moor over Burnley and then an then three points at home on Sunday, when they beat Crystal Palace 2-0, Eddie Howe’s men were hoping to overtake local rivals Sunderland, when they took on another newly promoted side under the lights at SJP. And what played out was without a doubt the stand out game of the 2025/6 season so far and a thriller for the ages.
It was Leeds who got their noses in front, when Brendan Aaronson found the net after 32 minutes, before Barnes got his first of his brace when he levelled things up after 36. It looked like things would be level at half time, only for Leeds to be awarded a penalty in stoppage time and the in form Calvert-Lewin to make it 2-1 from the spot.

Joelinton brought things back to 2-2 with a header on 54, but Leeds weren’t down there and it was Aaronson who pounced again in the 79th minute to put them back in front. And then came a 10 or so minutes that will live long in United history, when Bruno Guimaraes thought he’d snatched a point with a 91st minute penalty and then unthinkable happened, when Barnes then sent St James’ into hysteria by scoring in the 12th minute of added on time. – the latest Premier League winner on record.
His goal prompted the wildest scenes the stadium has seen in some time and, although she wasn’t there to see her boyfriend be the toast of SJP, Naomi watched the late drama unfold on a big screen TV back at home and uploaded a photo to her Instagram story, showing Harvey celebrating as she simply captioned it: ‘Yesssssss!!!’
Naomi was back on Insta on Thursday afternoon to be one of the first people to congratulate Sandro Tonali and wife Juliette on the birth of their first child, after they welcomed baby son Leonardo into the world hours earlier.
Next up for a jubilant NUFC is another home game, this time against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, before the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi against Manchester City back at St James’ Park on Tuesday night.
