Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa
Morgan Rogers is the 12th most valuable player on the planet.
That’s according to a new study by the respected CIES Football Observatory, who have valued Aston Villa’s star man at 125.9m euros (£109m).
He is the third most valuable Premier League player on the list, behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (255.1m euros) and Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz (135.8m euros).
Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal is rated the most valuable player globally, ahead of Haaland, at 343.1m euros, with Real Madrid duo Kylian Mbappe (201.3m euros) and Jude Bellingham (153.1m euros) also in the top-four.
Rogers’ value has rocketed since joining Villa for just £8m plus add-ons which may rise to £15m almost two years ago.
He took the Premier League and Champions League by storm in his first full season at Villa Park, helping Unai Emery’s side to the quarter-finals in Europe where they lost to eventual Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
His form led to an England call-up and the prize of PFA Young Player of the Year and sparked transfer links with several of Villa’s rivals, including Liverpool and Chelsea.
He is in great form for Villa once again this season, after a difficult start, playing a key role as they sit third in the Premier League and on course for the knockout stages of the Europa League.
Rogers is joined on the list of 100 players by one Villa teammate – Amadou Onana – who is valued at 64.6m euros, having moved to Villa Park from Everton for £50m.
