  1. I think the signing is a good idea if we’re permanently moving Martin to center back. At the end of the day are “back up full backs” we’re eric and Martin. Sure there’s Jofre but we really need a good offensive back up there, if we learned anything from the injuries last season. Not to mention; Eric, Martin, Balde, and Kounde have played a lot of minutes this season.

As much as we should have signed a center back and move Martin back, there probably wasn’t enough money for it (evidence is the fact we only registered the 3 summer signings when ter stagen got injured)

  2. I understand that we all want a CB, but we need to take barca's condition into consideration.

First, we are still not financially stable, and I guess flick agreed to Cancelo because we needed to do business fast since there's a limited time to use the Christensen salary to register a new player. If we are to search for a CB, it will probably drag on to the end of the winter window, and we don't have that time.

Secondly, getting a top quality cb would be difficult as we'll have to pay a huge amount to snatch one. Again, we dont have the money, and if we lose out on cancelo as inter Milan was already in talks with him, we may end up not getting any player.

  3. I don't think flick is happy with this signing cause is not the player he wanted but the club is taking advantage of the fact that is a type of coach that never complains

  4. Hopefully another win in the super cup, and I am not 100%sure flick is 100% happy with the signing however time will tell and as I said previously if would have preferred to bring back inigo….

  5. From what I hear from Hansi Flick, he does have a good reason why he is after a Centre Back. He does see Barcelona’s Defensive backline as a potential area in need of improvement heading into the cut-throat end of the season particularly when it comes to the champions league. Now for Joao Cancelo, I think adding him to either blindside or openside pocket does add flexibility and possibly give Kounde an opportunity to start at Centre Back. But will that stack up when the whips are cracking?? Time will tell.
