If Wilson's deal is as low paying as we've been led to believe, it might actually be a scenario where it works out better for him to buy himself out of the contract than to allow us to keep hold of him and not play him

Mad to let him go. Just match the offer of whoever is after him for the last five months of the season.

Just offer Wilson a 6 month regular deal. he's already free, we'd just be paying him 6 months wages.
That's incredibly cheap given the value he brings to us (or not against us) because we are relegation-bound.
You could even bench him for the rest of the season if you don't fancy him, but he'd be locked down to us.

The only thing I can think of regarding Wilson is he is taking up a space in the 25 man squad. If we do have some defenders coming in, we need all the spaces we can get. I completely agree though. I would remove him from the squad list and stick him in the reserves. Don't even bother with that. Put him on gardening leave along with Nuno.

West Ham had a striker problem. Callum Wilson was not the solution.
Guilherme was a class act throughout his time with us. We absolutely let him down! He never kicked up a fuss. Always talked about wanting to play for us. I'd have liked to have seen more of him.

Everton supporter here, i know what you're going through, been shite for years and spent 100's of millions on average players especially centre forwards but id just like to say , be careful what you wish for , letting Moyes go , hopefully he can do a job for us but no win in 10 is desperate for who is there now and who'll come in. To add insult to injury I would not be surprised if he is going to Millwall – looks like they are offloading Langstaff and they are very intelligent in the transfer market – suit Millwall perfectly and for nothing – reckon he has bought his travel card to Bermondsey already !
