Lenart Karl: "Bayern is a very big club, I love playing there… but I also have another dream, at some point I definitely want to go to Real Madrid", told Sky DE

"Bayern is a very very big club. Real is my dream club, but that stays between us [laughs]. Of course, Bayern is something very special, it's a lot of fun at the club".

Why would Karl want to join a shady club? I can't count how many times madrid robbed us dude. Is he stupid

The rise is getting to his head.
Normal for his age but normally Germans handle it quite well.
Our culture really hates this attitude.

  2. He’s 17, great talent and all and idk if you pay attention but he’s not a huge team player lol, esp with his ig, I get it, being a footballer for one of the biggest clubs in the world is awesome, but he needs to tone down a tiny bit? I wouldn’t mind letting him go if it means we get another player like ouedraogo to replace him and someone who clearly will bleed for both the dfb and Bayern.

  3. Critical-Trainer-525 on

he just qualified for some pr training. simply a headache for everyone involved, totally unnecessary

  4. random-gen-22 on

He’s 17, he’s still got the child’s dreams. Wait until he plays against them in UCL and realizes they aren’t the dream team they used to be when Kroos and Modric formed the heart of the team.

  5. He is a 17-year old kid. As long as he delivers on the pitch I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

  6. GoodZealousideal5922 on

He has a 5 yr contract with us. What a disrespectful statement. He’s playing for one of the biggest teams in the world, I would expect the club to react to this

  7. If he felt that way he should’ve kept it to himself, not while he’s trying to break into Bayern’s first team. I get that he’s 17 but as a Bayern player, he represents Bayern and statements like this can undermine Bayern’s reputation amongst young talent.

  9. Madrid is such an awful club full of egotistical players who only play for themselves.

  10. effervescentEscapade on

That’s a shame. He may only be 17, but he should know better. It’s fine to feel this way, but don’t go and tell fucking Sky about it…

  11. FairMusic8278 on

This is really something you wouldn’t want to hear from a guy we expected to be a fan favorite and the next potentially upcoming great player/legend for Bayern.

  12. There will be other talents. It’s good to know this now. He can go. Great way to burn your relationship with the club and fans. Also doesn’t help his manager is ballsack.

  13. RegisteredOnToilet on

    I hate him now ngl.

No club is more arrogant and unlikeable than Real Madrid. Just go Karl dont care about you anymore

  14. Soft-Influence4430 on

Well, Cristiano also said that his dream was to play for Real Madrid, and he’s Portuguese, although that could easily be to create more hype around him and his signing.

  15. BedroomVegetable99 on

It will literally change his career. No fan will truly accept him from now on. No way he didn’t know that.
Maybe a calculated move to push for the move this summer?

  16. Play well and help win us some trophies, hopefully a CL. His position clashes with Bambi and Olise anyways so let’s see what happens the next few seasons. Then he can go to Madrid for 120+

He’s a great talent but we can do a lot with the money in a couple of years when we are somewhat rebuilding and building around Musiala, Olise, Pavo

A nice young striker like Gabriel Mec, Sesko, Londono, De Martis, Damjanovic, Mbaye after Kane is ready to leave or retire

  17. What a shitty situation, i fucking love the kid and hate real so much that this post hurts my soul

  18. FlashyMuffin69 on

I thought this was like a meme or something from like the sports version of the Babylon Bee.

This is literally the dumbest thing he could have said. Holy sh1t.

This is what happens when you’re 17, have a good run and think that this is exactly how its going to be from now on.

He is about to learn a few life lessons at the same time..

  19. Honestly i love karl, hes been great for us, genuinely appreciate him. Although hes just 17 he needs to understand that you dont bite the hand thats feeding you, bayern is the club that gave him the opportunity to shine and i get how he showed his quality but you dont sign a 5y contract extension then later on go ahead and say id rather play for another club, hes gonna just get disliked by fans, yall remember bastians rumours? where he was supposed to join madrid, he had been in the club for years on years and still faced some hate whereas karl replaced muller in our squad got musialas number, got respect and love from all the fans (and that hes german) and that too just in under half a season yet he goes on and says this on a media outlet knowing well that its gonna hurt the fans, this aint it

  20. chrisalvarado on

Let him go there and you’ll never hear of him again… very few shiny when they transfer to Madrid…

  21. Oh stupidity already striking. Now He will have a rough week and there couldn’t be a netter welcome back present for Jamal than this.

  22. AccountUnfair2671 on

He’s just a child. I’m only hoping Uli Hoeneß doesn’t make a fuss out of this now. A 17 year old, not PR trained, immature guy would be better to handle than a 73 year old, over the top and unhinged old guy who keeps blabbering and screws up everything

  23. Stumbled over this thread by accident, I am a Stuttgart supporter. No offense, just curious: are bayern supporters really surprised by Karl’s statement? I said to one of my mates who’s a bayern supporter, that Karl is very arrogant or at least that it’s getting to his head. Have you never watched the pictures how he gets off the bus? Big watch, LV bag and pretty much ignoring the fans? Saw a video of a dude who painted him and known him from childhood days. He took that painting said “thanks” and walked off. Nevermind his celebrations after goals. I wish him all the best and he is a great talent, but to me he isn’t that of a likable public figure since his rise started. Not surprised at all. Did you guys really ignore that behavior from him previous?

  24. Brilliant-Yard-2429 on

As a Real Madrid fan I’m not even a fan of this. A homegrown academy player saying they want to play for another club is gut wrenching no matter the club
