Rodri is back. He looked imperious as ever, but City still failed to score against Sunderland, as the match ended 0-0.
In this post-match analysis, I explore why City struggled in the first half, how Guardiola adapted in the 2nd half, and the influence of Rodri in all phases of City’s play.

Too many times Haaland has shot too centrally when fed those cut back passes in the box. Needs to fix up on that.
I knew it without Doku this game was gonna be a problem
Been saying this Nico really needs to improve and needs to do it fast. He doesnt advance the ball and make forward passes as much as Rodri would i dont know if that is because he is scared and just trying to play safe plus you cant count the amount of time he is caught in possession .
I know Saviniho is young and everyone bangs on about he's going to be good, but sentimentality and time just cant be a thing if you are going to win a league, its tough choices and i just dont so enough with Saviniho , the 2 really good chances he had if you go back to Sane, Mahrez or Sterling at least one, if not both of those chances would have been in the back of the net. To win a league those chances just have to go in, no excuses, maybe this is where Semenyo comes in. Brilliant to see Rodders back. And good analysis.
Pretty good analysis 👍🏽
You were outfought all over the pitch our centre backs were outstanding, a bit unlucky with ya goal that was ruled offside but thought a draw was fair.
A pity your goalie lost the plot at the final whistle, he should have been sent off, simple as that, City have always been my second team so wish ya well for the season.
.
Rodri`s come back was the best bit of the match, he slotted in and looks comfortable as he grew into the game. I am happy with a point from a tricky away game to an inform team who defended brilliantly and frankly deserved it, we are still a team in rebuild with a fair way to go to get back to our best. In Pep we trust.
Good stuff bro
Gill shouldn’t have met Haaland 😭😭😭
too kind on savi with that second effort, made it far too easy for the keeper to save, needed to either find haaland or put his boot through it, make the keeper work more.
im still mad on sunderland man this aint a way to play football they were not even trying to attack in second half 8 players in the back man disgrace ….complete disgrace
Rordi and doku not one with out the other and rordi stilll not at 100
City still cannot score, try putting a few crosses in the box
Fodan was so poor in this game
For why the second half looked better for City, I had it as about 60% that Sunderland went max effort in the first 45, 30% Rodri's brilliance, and 10% City's most tired legs needing a spell.
I thought Rodri's introduction helped you to hang on for a well-deserved point.
Rodri is like salah days are over old men
Nobbins why do you think nico never plays a half back role to help us in build up, only Rodri?
For DM whether our opponents score or not is priority than anything else.
Then Rodri is still Rodri. Considering the last premier league game with Sunderland. We are not worse off but Sunderland played a very good football. Nevertheless they are not score but they deserved at least 3 goals comparing players hard work and activities.
Le Fee is a center mid.
Rodri is key for remainder of the season!!!
