  1. Forget wout weghorst being good for long balls, for someone of his size, he's useless in the air. Very good with his feet, and bringing the ball down, but forget his head, he was useless with it from what I watched of him at his time at the mighty clarets burnley. Over all, I think he will be good for united.

  2. I hope he performs well this season and get ultimately signed by United on permanent transfer in summer…he can be a good backup striker and i hope United buy osimhen as a main striker🤔🤔🤔🤔

  3. It's great to see a genuine breakdown on his skills and attributes. Every supposed "pundit" just keep on mentioning his height and he'll be great for headers, even though he's actually quite technical and agile off the ball for a man his size. Here's hoping he's the impetus for Man United to secure Top 4 this season.

  4. Could united play him and martial up front don’t think we ever used him as SS . I feel Martial isn’t a main striker and needs to play off a target man ?

  5. Burnley fan here, watched him play in the prem.

Don’t judge him on his goals, his hold up play and ability to play people through is top class. We didn’t have players around him to get the most out of his skill set.

He isn’t a target man, he’s a 6’6 false 9 in my eyes as silly as it sounds. All his goals in Germany came from poacher efforts, again burnley didn’t make the most of this. He will probably shock a few people….

(I hope he does, so we get a nice transfer at the end)

  6. People should have a watch of the teams he played for , AZ alkmaar , Wolfsburg , besiktas . clubs that have a high work rate and team players . High energy tactical and technical teams. Ten Hag faced AZ alkmaar in when weghorst played there and have a good look who played at that club at that time . as they have a nak for scouting and selling on players .

  7. he reminds me a lot of Henrik Larsson deal from Fergie years ago. Fergie recognised a shortcomings in the strikers he had and needed another option even if its just "cover" Henrikk at that stage was by and far past his best but he offered good workrate and linkup focal points.
Martial is great with his linkup play but at times struggles to make meaningful runs into the box for the creative players to pick him out, Weghorst will do the opposite he will constantly be making those runs.

  8. Aside from his technical and physical abilities, he has a strong personality. Such players are desperately needed at Manchester United.

  9. Can we get some analysis on Weghorst's defensive attributes? He seems to be elite level at working hard to press from the front and intercept balls, which seems more relevant to a Ten Hag system than a team that prefers to sit off and invite pressure all the time.

  10. At 6'6 if he plays with the aggressiveness like Haaland, I think he'll have a great 6 months at Utd. The 1st 3 games he has to play to his skill set and play with a lot of confidence

  11. I honestly think Weghorst will be our our starting striker by the end of February 😂

Martial has been so poor the past few games and has no instinct for being a striker.

  12. With the amount of creative & long pass players at midfield & back. He will have enough chance to up his goal ngl & this will give us enough data on what kinda striker we need goin forward & buy that profile on summer

  13. I feel wout will do well in his loan spell and we will sign him on a permanent basis in summer. He is a decent striker considering how good he was with Wolfsburg and then besiktas. Bruno eriksen antony rashford casemiro will bring him back to his best. Now we have a striker who is good at holding play pressing and top class with headers.

  14. We have desperately lacked real men in the team for a few years, disciplined, passionate, tough minded battlers. All footballing attributes aside, this guy looks like he is the right mentality. Lets get to work!

  15. Think Man U will regret not negotiating for an option to buy him for around 10m like Besiktas had it. Instead, if he performs well he will now go back to Burnley and they will demand a huge fee from us if we want to buy him.

  16. It’s a transfer that makes a lot of sense imo. De Gea plays better with long balls, Inited need a focal point and someone to bounce off.
The short term loan idea means that there is no strings of United decide to go another direction, and Weghorst’s stock can only rise from here, so he’ll be motivated.
