This arrest followed a proactive stop and search conducted by police in the early hours of this morning.
A roadside drugs wipe was carried out, and the driver was subsequently arrested
In a separate incident earlier during the same patrol shift, a different driver was also arrested for drug driving, with both Class A and Class B substances seized.

A police spokesperson said: “Going in to New Years Eve, we are expecting another busy night tonight.
“The team have attended numerous grade 1 calls, from burglaries in progress, thefts, domestic incidents, criminal damages and numerous others.
“Numerous offenders have been arrested, and numerous victims supported through tough times.
“The information you give us can be crucial in getting dangerous drivers, weapons and knives on the street.”
