Bilbao screwed themselves by locking in that high salary. This will prevent them from holding on to their top players or signing promising Basque players. Nico only cooks with another striker to free up space and receive crosses, but there is nobody there.

So much hate in the comments for a players ALL of us were praying to get. He is still a very good player, just in a slump. If we are gonna be honest with ourselves we didn’t “dodge a bullet” we just ended up in a better situation thanks to Nicos decision AND IF we did sign him we would all be defending his current form to justify the signing. We were never gonna get him because Bilbao cant afford to lose a player of his level and notoriety. They have too small a selection to choose from. Was the whole fiasco annoying? Yes. Do I still wish him all the best? Yes. Alls well that ends well. 💙❤ we move.

I think that he would play good in Barca. Flick would push him and he would have desire to win something. Maybe he rly wanted to play for Barca but when he saw that huge pile of money he decided to sign new contract only few months after he signed contract extension. He knows that Bilbao can't win anything so he is not giving 100% because he knows that he will get his money even if he plays at 20%. We will see true picture on world cup and he could leave after WC because he loves money so much… clubs like Chelsea or United would give him a lot of money or even dudes from Saudi Arabia. But Barca won… they did not have to pay for his transfer and his salary and they have Rashford that want to play and win something. I only hope that he will accept lower salary if he want real transfer to Barca. And one more thing, i saw some news today that Barca is trying to get Vlahovic from Juve for free this summer… he sucks so much. that said, I think he's just young, and not all young players can have a stable rise. Up and down is normal, and Nico this year is on the down said. Still, the talent is there and he can always bounce back. Not in Barca though, he never interested to come to Barca and that's for the best for Barca.
