Gyokeres not doing wonders but he certainly isn't being passed the ball enough, there were also two times Declan rice running down the right could have cut it to odegard and Saka and he either passed too late or missed the chance. The same thing happens to Gyokeres they don't pass it to him enough. He needs to have many more opportunities than he does.
I also want to see Gyokeres position himself towards the near side post in front of goal on sakas side, so Saka can pass to him like he did martinelli today. Although martinelli skied that chance.
Saka has been POOR for the last 6 or 7 games but no one is talking about it.
Pot shots, poor crosses, one dimensional passes, poor finishing.

Also, Arteta needs to learn which teams will come and press and which will set up in a block. Brighton are NOT a defensive team, therefore he needed his better transition players.
Trossard doing stupid tricks to annoy the brighton fans with a 1-0 first half lead is comical, you don’t see Doku or Rogers doing that bs unless the tie is clinched.
And finally, Gyokeres needs to understand what areas to attack better! Its all ok to improve his touch, passing and hold up play but as a CF, he has to learn where the ball will be in the final 3rd and make himself there. We already have Havertz who comes deep and Jesus who interchanges with Martinelli, with Trossard there and Saka, he has to be in the keepers box.

Martinelli and jesus coming on changed the momentum instantly and potentially saved us today.
Gabriel Jesus has a telepathic understanding with Martinelli and he brings out the best in him even when playing from the wing. It’s unfortunate that Gyokeres doesn’t fit out style of game but if we want to be more creative in front of goal we have to reintroduce Gabby Jesus back into starting eleven!!!

There were 4-5 chances where he shot from a poor position, when a pass was a better option – the phase just before odegaard scored, he shot and it was closer to the corner flag. Against Brentford (the second) he shot and got lucky when Gyokeres was in space calling – for the easier option. He is the start boy and one of the best players we’ve had since Henry, but maybe the scrutiny or the contract extension is making him subconsciously try harder
