      Games are won and lost (generally) in midfield. Get in BOTH Neves and Leon. Move on Bassouma in Jan and Bentancur either Jan or summer. A six-man group of Paulinha, Leon, Ruben, Archie, Sarr and Bergvall is juicy AF.

      Semenyo won't happen now but Savinho (loan with option) or Diomande (loan with obligation) for £55-65m, and let Tel go out on loan.

      We can survive a weak 9, until Solanke returns/Muani gets up to speed, provided the midfield is exemplary (see above).

      We would be extremely daft as a club to wait till summer. We wont be in europe and no one of quality will come..january might be the last time in a long while we will have Champs league as a draw. We need to milk it now

      According to Ali gold he said that Frank mentioned in his presser when asked about paratici that the club would hold him until Feb before releasing him from his contract they want him for this transfer window as apparently he is deeply involved in many negotiations…

      I keep seeing people saying Goretzka is 30, yes he's 30, he's experienced! That's exactly what we need, he would be great for a few seasons.

      Sorry Sean regardless of what we do with signings etc. I just don't think Thomas Frank has got the ability to mould any players we do have into any sort of cohesive unit. I was very happy initially with the appointment, but as time has gone on all I see is fiddling at the margins, playing people out of position, and a manager not being able to adapt during the game in a timely manner. Which was the main thing I hoped for.
      Frank talks philosophy and principles, but I've yet to hear what that means. The lack of ability of the manager to give instruction on how to play as a team I'm sure has led to frustration in the players, who then lose focus and so the blame game starts and we start chasing shadows. Below par performances are the result and in my view wont be changing until we get a manager with a stronger personality which will at least get the respect of the playing group.
      I agree with just about everything you say about age and ability of targeted players, but it's just no good just plonking them in the squad with not much idea of how to set them up. Save the 'War-Chest' for someone who knows what they're doing and can implement it.

      Goretzka is a good player but the not the profile we need. We need a no.8 that is a good passer and controls the tempo of the game. This guy's just a German Joelinton with some tech. He's a battering ram and can't fit in a smooth free flowing system. Exactly why he's being benched for Pavlovic. Get Ruben Neves or someone else. I like Sean's player reviews but scouting isn't only about reading stats, percentiles and watching highlights clips. You can know a good player from his highlights but 5min highlights don't show what he was doing for the other 85mins or so. Watch them don't just read stats.

      Goretzka was a very good player for many years, but has been struggling for the past several years, mostly not being selected for the first team at Bayern Munich. A very expensive substitute earning € 17 million a year, hence Bayern tried everything to get rid of him, but he refused to be sold to another club. His contract at Bayern is now finally up by the end of the season. Definitely NOT a good option for Tottenham.

      I loved Bentancur during the Conte period but since his injury and change of managers he’s been unable to deliver an accurate forward pass which is driving me crazy.We need to replace him asap because we just keep losing possession so cheaply.
