This was peak MLB. I'm from Boston so like 1998-2004 when we finally won was the most compelling baseball ever. Pedro was just unhittable. Coming so close every year. We had clearly drawn lines. We had one enemy. The Yankees were everything we hated about baseball. We were exactly the same with the money and all star lineup, but we were on the side of the angels. Every regular season game against NYY was like the playoffs. It really was something special.

Pedro and Roger act so tough, but with the designated hitter, you know you're never going to get an at bat & get knocked down yourself!!… I remember a game in 1968 where Bob Gibson and Tom Seaver hit each other & cursed at each other!
I never understood why batters who get thrown at, wouldn't just swing and miss at some point and let the bat fly toward the mound… Seems like a no-brainer!
