"Part of the strategy behind this"? Bielsa tried to sign Aaronson before Jesse even got there so i'm not sure his Americanism played any part.
Also I'd start Aaronson in the midfield and he'd take Musah's or Mckennie's spot because i'd play him in the midfield. Or i'd play Reyna midfield and Aaronsen wide right. And i agree, i'd probably play Weah as a striker.

American soccer fans have a massive victim complex… managers argue all the time , it's got nothing to do with the fact he was American 🙄
You take off Ferreira and move Weah to CF. For a couple of reasons:
1) Ferreira isnt the “bulky” target man type and we arent bombing the ball up to him to hold up for other players. The position for usmnt is just a false-9 fulcrum for interplay between our players.
2) Weah is more than capable of that.
3) we arent lumping big crosses in from the wings looking for headers
4) Ferreira doesnt have the burst to get on the end of balls put across the face of goal. Weah does. He has the fast acceleration on the team. USE IT.
5) Weah’s natural position is at CF, and playing him centrally makes him a threat to get in behind on thru-balls.
6) playing pulisic, weah, and aaronson up top doesnt have to be static in position. All three are capable of playing all across the front line
There is no tactical reason not to push Weah to CF and start Aaronson at RW.

I agree on Aaronson over Pulisic. I like Pulisic and he’s probably the most skilled player but he’s more of a luxury player for me. At the moment I don’t see him as a plus teamwise and he doesn’t defend as well. In either case both are wonderful options.
Alexi is a drama Queen who’s too enamored with unnecessary drama. I don’t mind a active coach on the sidelines as long as he doesn’t hijack or overshadow the action on the field. I hope Jesse keeps it under control.
