In today’s show I give my thoughts on the imminent return of Kai Havertz and discuss why I think it will be such a boost to Mikel Arteta and the squad. I also discuss Martin Zubimendi, Takehiro Tomiyasu’s Ajax deal and more.

  1. Goykeres was the cheapest backup striker Arsenal were willing pay for. If Havertz or Jesus are fully fit then they will get picked over Goykeres every time. It was a calculated gamble by Arsenal to buy Goykeres. If he banged, it was a bonus, if not he would be a good substitute option.

  2. Very uncomfortable question Charles that I’d love you to bring up (love the show btw)

Has Berta been a bad signing? I don’t think he has but play special advocate

3 players went into our starting 11. Eze Gyokeres and Zubi. Zubi has been brilliant. Eze had moments but doesn’t affect the game like Odegaard in the 10 or Trossard on the left.

Gyokeres has only scored a handful of goals in the prem against lower teams.

    And Zubi has been influential

I don’t think Gyokeres is an Arteta type signing so this feels forced, Eze doesn’t seem to fit the style we go for. Hincapie came injured and has been okay, Madueke is great but lacks end product consistently

    I don’t believe any of that but i think it’s a conversation

  3. Havertz fan here! Really looking forward to having him back but I think we need to be a bit patient with him as he hasn’t played football for most of 2025.

    My team:

    Raya
    Timber Saliba Gabi Cala
    Odegaard Zubi Rice
Saka Kai Leo (with Martinelli coming off the bench to score a goal like always)

  4. Hi Charles,

Been watching the games tonight and following yet another atrocious refereeing decision, City should go down to 10 in the 15th minute and I have to ask what do you think can be done about the woeful refereeing we have to endure every week? The PL and the English game in general is the best product in the world but it is being ruined by really poor refs who are enabled by PGMOL seeming to want to defend the awful performance of refs instead of fixing it

  5. Hello, Charles. This is my first message to you, although I have been a big fan of you watching this channel in the last few years. I just thank you for mentioning Tomi here after he departed Arsenal. As a Japanese gooner, I supported him a lot, and I was hugely disappointed every time he got injured. Now, I am happy to see him back in the pitch, and I really hope he will play in full fitness and enjoy football. Thank you again for commenting on him, and of course, I will follow you and fully support Arsenal! COYG!!

  6. When we compare Gyokeres to other summer transfers such as Woltemade and Ekitike, it looks like we got the short straw, Saka delivered a fantastic cross low across the box against Wolves, but he was nowhere near it. I hope things improve but I can't see it, if we was at least showing other facets such as hold up play, or making assists, then we could make some sort of excuse but nothing.

  7. Charles you must be suffering from some sort of amnesia.Take your mind back to those horrid 10 days last January when were knocked out of the Carabao Cup. Remember the chances he missed in both games. Give your head a wobble mate!!

  8. Lol that Gyok question comment is embarrassing. Just an epitome of the overly emotional Arsenal fan that will do anything to slag off their own players.

  9. Havertz awaiting scan
    Havertz awaiting 2nd scan
Out for 3 to 4 weeks
    Needs operation
    Now out after minor operation
Should be back after 1st international break
    Delay by a week
Will be back after 2nd international break
    Will be back soon
    Wil be back next week
    Will be back soon again
    Wil be back yesterday!!!!
Shambolic medical team, continually get it wrong.
It is like the BBC Weather forecast. Always wrong.
Let's hope Havertz, Gabriel or White don't get serious injuries!!!!
    Absolutely bonkers

  10. Rubbish as usual. Gyokeres hardly gets passed too, and certainly has had hardly any real chances. Arteta never wanted him and it shows. Another forward ruined by Mikel.

  11. Hi Charles, don't really understand the pleas to change to a back 3. In possession, our shape is often a back 3 anyway with our RB tucking in with the centre backs. Higher up the pitch the RB then is alongside Saka. If we need a stop gap solution, surely Norgaard is a reasonable choice since he'd essentially be playing in a midfield position in possession.

  12. Guys L think Goykeres is still our best striker let us not rush to get back Jesus because of injuries 10 to 15 minutes is fine otherwise if we get him early we cry again lets have faith in Goykeres we must also give a blame to midfielders they are not give or pass this guy, but l can also give a blame to our manager look at Mancity how they play around their striker if Rodri is in the they always play together with Halaand which is not done by Odegard and Eze

  13. I don't blame gyokeres,
We have wingers they rather score themselves over passing.
We have midfielders they either searching for the wingers or playing backward balls.
We have a disabled creativity in number 10 and 8 positions we are creating less clear chances than mid table teams.
We have fallbacks they compete in the opponent box over headers
Ofc a typical number 9 would struggle,
Gyokeres needs to adept as much as our squad have to adjust, and here is the question what can arteta do to fix that, and whether gyokers and the rest of the team are willing to change.

  14. Its time to make an important assessment… What is our priority? For me EPL! Were seeing some tired lads that ar exhausted. If we have one injury in defence will be in trouble. Rice and Zubi are to be managed better

  15. Hi Charles. I have a concern. When Viktor signed, Øedegard sent him a welcoming letter promising assists. For some reason I don't think he is getting the service he deserves which takes away from his game. He thrives on supply which he is not getting. I know u doubt this notion but in truth, he is not the star Haaland is at City because of those around him. We are not scoring as much because of a bit of selfishness. Players need to accept Arteta and the recruiting team saw him as a star and so he should be. I love the guy but I've not enjoyed his Output. He is above Havertz and Jesus in the pecking order BTW because he is more gifted than the two in terms of shot conversion. If only everyone could dance to his rhythm. He should be following Haaland in the scoring charts or equalling him for crying out loud

  16. its same thing as last season with Havertz back starting, we will be saying we need an out n out striker, its like u have forgotten lol how about adapting to feed our striker instead?
