  1. I think it's important to recognize that the team plays around these players very differently. In my mind, we're not direct enough in transitional play to use Gyökeres effectively because that's where he is at his strongest (Odegaard being back may help this issue though as he has excellent passing range and vision). So our slower build up play and overall conservative nature with the ball means a big striker with off-ball preferences is going to get much less chances, much less touches, etc than Merino or Havertz or even Jesus who all more comfortably integrate with the team in false nine type positions. They simply suit the current style of the team, so the team needs to adapt when he plays. Release that pass sooner, look for those long balls over the top when we're deep in our own half. I know Gyökeres is absolutely ready for those chances.

  2. I'm someone from Europe living in the UK, I'm always in favor of getting someone a shot who is not from the UK.

And I love Girousd, very underrated player, incredible career.

But I do think we should screen a bit more for English language level, and does he actually add much to the show.

  3. Respect to Giroud, but us arsenal fans haven't forgotten how damn inconsistent he was… not to mention the 15 goal drought HE HAD during that Leceister season. We were 5 points top at new year if i remember correctly. Ozil was playing out of his skin at that point too.

  4. Before he was injured Gyokeres was incredibly important with his hold up play and harrying of opposition back lines. He clearly needs to score more and currently hasn’t remotely justified the price tag, but people acting like he has no use in the team need to look beyond stats.
