Schär should improve some and tidy up aerial work with better coaching. not sayin hes a stone or tripper world cup type but he can do some work there on corners and will shoot at the net. not try to pass in the box. he can get up in the air and score and hes not afraid of sergio ramos.he has some spine.

We’re gonna be deadly from set pieces this season, have we ever had so many deadly set piece takers? Shelvey, Ritchie, Ki, Kenedy then Lascelles, Lejeune and Schar as the big men to head them in.

Atleast he has one valuable asset Mbemba never had, which is that he speaks good English.

Glad we've signed Schar, not only because we need a replacement for Mbemba especially since Lejeune is rumoured to be injured but because Schar looks to be a very promising player. Switzerland have some decent players with the likes of Yann Sommer, Shaqiri, Xhaka so to have played 3 games out of 4 in a world cup he most have some talent.

I feel like the assessment of his style of play is way off: he's a passing center back, who's looking for a deep vertical passing option. No Jonjo Shelvey by any means, but still. Schär had a better pass completion rate than most defenders in La Liga. Decent aerial ability to go with it. If Rafa can get him to cut out the odd lack of focus, he can really add something to the team.

Great replacement for Mbemba and can do a job if Lejeune or Lascelles get injured or have a form slump. I think all we need now is to bring in a no.10, a striker and a winger/wide midfielder to add strength and depth to our squad and hopefully push for top 8 or a position in European football

Would everyone be accepting and content for example if we bought a good left back like Bryan sold Hayden and mitrovic, and received say 25m for both of them, got Bryan for around 6-10m have muto signed up, possible loan come in like Welbeck or even Rondon in a swap for Gayle and then spent money on a good number 10, that can operate on wings always, and spend majority on someone like that who will create and make big impacts, basically like our big signing for the summer, like loftus cheek? Or would people prefer loan someone like loftus cheek and then sign a bigger striker for 20m, tbh I don’t think he’ll try sign a striker and break records if we sign muto, I think Rondon in a swap with Gayle and muto I’m also would be good, we’d have 3 strikers then Perez can play there to, then spend some good money on a attacking midfielder and probably we would be breaking even or even still in a profit

Very happy with the signing, hope he does well when giving the chance, who knows he might end up playing the football of his career and pinching lejunes spot.

He is just Mbemba’s replacement but a replacement nonetheless. Let’s back him and hopefully he can become a brilliant bargain for us.
