Mikel Merino’s powerful header and Bukayo Saka’s late strike gave us a 2-0 victory over Brentford to extend our run to 18 matches unbeaten in all competitions.
Good link-up play between Noni Madueke and Ben White allowed the full-back to find the Spaniard, who netted for the second game in a row.
As Brentford looked for a late leveller, we opened up the Bees as Saka latched onto the end of Merino’s inch-perfect through ball to make it 2-0 and move us five points clear at the top of the table.

Am I the only one dislike our captain play style? Holding up the ball too long, slow down our attack pace, keep pointing and instructing other teammate yet his position is so so bad, unable to provide defence shield at the center zone, easy to lose ball due to poor physical, keep overlapping position with Zubi and right wings, unable give effective passing, keep side and back pass, unable to shot went there is a chance, I just feel his playing style not fit to our current play system already. I just don’t like to see him run like headless chicken up front, yet lose ball to opponent too easy.
I hope he can learn more from Modric. Who have similar physical size but technically and willingness to run, break tru from tight defence, taking risk to shot with skill.
Saka needs to pass more
1:00 Calafiori makes things that aren't meant to be easy look super easy. One of the most gifted players in the squad, if not EPL.
Saka want all the glory and spotlight to himself , looks like it . Salah gets both goal and assists . While Saka will most likely hog ball to score while missing so many chances . Selfish player , I’m no longer a huge supporter of this guy .
