Also, for anyone wondering, there was 1 yellow card and no red cards. After a review in 1997, it surfaced that there should’ve been 6 red cards and 20 yellow cards at the very least.
Music on this vid is way too loud fella. Distracts from the content
That's the way the game should be played. But no we caved into the queers yes Victoria I want a suntan and women on tv talking about football. That's bullshit two.
You might find the battle of bramall lane game was more brutal?
If this was to be played nowadays it would need 22 stretchers onbthe sidelines. I watched both matches, until this time I was a Chelsea fan aged 11, afterwards I supported Leeds for 15 years. Best years of my football supporting time.
The first cup final I watched on the tv, I was 8 years old.
Thanks for posting this video. Plenty skill on show. Great game. They Chelsea guys could certainly look after themselves. Leeds 'physical' reputation well documented elsewhere. Who knows – a slightly softer style from Clough (history shows that he missed Peter Taylor greatly at Leeds) may have changed fortunes for the better for Leeds later.
What wonderful memories of my boyhood team still gives me goosebumps
George Best You are a Fantastic Football player You are the Best George Best Good bye the Belfast boy World legend Maradona Cruyff Pele George Best is the Best
I watched this on TV and will never forget Webb's goal. That was real football back then, dirty and brutal, but incredibly entertaining. God bless those players who went before, and played for the club and not the salary.
Those were the days…’When Saturday Comes’ ✊🏻 All spoiled by the men in suits (imo)
Ps.. Liverpool v Leeds was my absolute favourite fixture.
Tough and magnificent. Back when football was about the game, rather than what armband to wear.
Give me 70's football any day over the noncey, cheating, overpaid, crybaby shite we have today.
What s battles
To all who say this is what football should be about: I am sorry, but that is not correct. Football is about beautiful goals. It´s about winning. It´s about fast dribblings. It´s about to do things with the ball other people can not do. Back in the 60s, 70s and 80s Football almost all over the world was more about how to tackle my oponnent. Or even get him injured and out of the game. In fact many defenders were taught how to tackle the oponnent with a high possibility he could get injured. It´s okay If you´d like to see that. But therefore you do not need a professional league. You can also see that in villages every sunday. I am very grateful that Football is not like this anymore. So many great players who really were able to play magical football had to pause or maybe end their career in early years due to some of those hideous tackles. And there are many examples: Maradona and Pele are the most famous victims of this strategy.
If that match was being played with today’s rules, the amount of bookings would have been phenomenal.
I’m so sad for you, English people.
You invented football, but you don’t know how to play it 🥺
Should be pointed out, that game was replayed @ Old Trafford.
That was true commitments from both sets of players back then! There were no divers rolling about like they had just been shot! These were men, nothing like todays football players who are over paid and over rated! I stopped going to football matches when the first one million pound was spent on purchasing a football player! Knowing that the supporters will be footing the bill, more so in todays game!
Yo lo único que veo es al Chelsea metiendo patadas sucias y haciendo gol en offside
Real Fighters👍❤
Lumberjacks.
English….. Football ?
When british players were… british
In a time and age when a simple knee injury needed plaster and a year of rehab🫣
When blokes were blokes, now they just roll around as if they've been shot.
Leeds have always been a dirty side. Chelsea are thoroughbreds and play expansive and flowing football, leeds are carthorses and just lump it up to the big lad up front. Horrible little team disliked by all other sun the EPL. FACT
This is like watching a different sport to the dreary, boring garbage that passes for football nowadays. Passion and excitement on the pitch and on the terraces and players who had pride in their clubs and weren’t just looking to get a payday at a so called ‘bigger’ club.
Karate football,…the best game ever invented!😬👍
That's how the game was real footy not like today's sissy GAME,
Soft southerners, YEAH tell Ron Harris that, LMFAO 😂
Brutal.. Many of these tackles and fouls would garner a red card in today's game.. One thing that's improved from yesteryear..
If today's players played back then they wouldn't live to tell the tale.
Get on with it. If people like your content then they will LIKE & SUBSCRIBE. there's nothing more cringeworthy than listening to a grown man BEGGING complete strangers for approval.
So effing gay.
Proper football.
Call me crazy, but a lot of these players could play today. Not as flashy as modern players. Though certainly tougher
In time, this game is closer to 1918 than 2022.
What's with the terrible music just play the highlights
Leeds United had a hard man team and attitude in the sixties..as I recall….I've seen some vicious tussles with Liverpool and Man United…..
Two games played by two totally committed teams. Brilliant players on either side giving it their all….the beautiful game….."Blue is the Colour"
The horizontal, air-borne head tackle on Bremner at 2.48 was both brutal and hysterical at the same time. I think it was by McCreadie. Two great games with some legendary names on the pitch.
Wish football was more like this hate it’s turning none contact but obviously not was ott as the worst tackles I’ve seen they was practically assaults
united fan here . but great video
