Gakpo is the kind of player who makes good teams better and great teams greater.

Whatever formation you want to call it, we need Kerkez and Frimpong/Bradley/Gomez??? bombing up and down the sidelines as wingbacks to support Wirtz in the middle and to serve Isak/Ekitike up top. Against West Ham, you saw what Kerkez could do and to some degree Gomez as well. It all worked very well with Sobo filling the holes as Gomez and Wirtz moved in and out of areas.
I’m a big fan of Gakpo and I just don’t get the hate.
He scored 18 goals last season while sharing game time with Diaz.
He always tracks back and always chips in with important goals and assists.
One thing I will say is that Rio is way off being a 1st team regular and should’ve been sent on loan.

Two CBs, first as the very urgent requirement. Semenyo as an option on the LW. Gakpo is good but predictable and always doing the same things. Gets results and works hard, but we can do better.
He would be fine if he wasn’t on 250/week, compared to other salaries in the team it’s crazy

Gakpo will leave sooner than later as he wants to play in the first eleven-just like Diaz did. He's a good player but not world class. I like him a lot but he's 26 now, so should be approaching his 'out of this world' stage-which he unfortunately isn't. A great top 4 player but not a world beater.

Diaz was better than Gakpo, we miss that competition on the LW.
Gakpo is a Championship level player at best. He hasn’t improved at all since he arrived. I’d rather play Rio over Gakpo 💯
