I feel like we lose this game last season. We went a goal down but we didn’t look bothered, we kept going. Also doesn’t help their pitch was awful, really slowed the ball down, I noticed it loads when it went to Sancho, he ran expecting the ball to come to him but it just slowed very quickly. Honestly for a premier league pitch it was unacceptable
Look at the state of the pitch though. It seemed to me the grass was long and the ball ran slowly. It was a tactic by Leeds to stifle the way we play. It look like so many passes were underhit, but to me, the pitch was like treacle
PLAY BAD AND WIN‼️ We keep saying it. On Malen, We'd like to see him start more but if Ollie is staying in the team and going to the left, with Him inside, it is better as a substitute move. We become heavy on the left, leaving the right quite open. If the opponents have had 45 – 60 mins of defending more narrowly, it will catch Them out. Start like that and They'll be gung-ho down Our right hand side.
On a personal note Luke, I have noted the vocabulary picking up lately. Doing YouTube and having to speak at a camera for 20 mins at a time I suppose will do that. You're still growing after all this time. Well done. You'll soon be at 30k

Think Malen needs to play more Watkins is having a mare of a season so far really worrying that our only out and out striker is not performing I assume we will have to do something in Jan. what are your thoughts on Elliott I thought it was a good signing but not seen anything from him and don’t think we will
Malen is a wasted talent giving him a impact player coming off the bench is a waste of value of his minutes playing and Villa must play him with Watkins. The bigger the use of the width and space creates more opportunities for ball players for your forwards to score. Totally agree win ugly win beautiful the points count UTV
I noticed Maatsen getting beat too many times running back on defense . Pau isn't fast ( putting it nicely), but you do see him being more physical higher up the pitch. Yesterday, what concerns me, is seeing too many long passes up the middle from Pau, etc. that didn't come close to reaching their target. Those type of passes set-up a quick counter that puts enormous pressure on the back 4. I like the long passes, but they have to be more precise down the middle, or we are going to see a few more dangerous jailbreaks from the opposition when we face better teams than Leeds.
He will come good soon watkins will 2nd half of season be like a new player imo tielemans and buendia cant play together so onana will be with kammara with mcginn and tielemans i reckon and malan why not try him against wolves bring watkins on last half hour omo utv 👍👍
The reason the top teams can win these sort of ugly games Is for 2 main reasons Firstly even when they don't play their best they Invariably are still very tight at the back so even if they don't perform flowing football or create chances In every game they still aren't going In 2-0 down at HT but 0-0 and are in the game
Thats' crucial and something that we didn't do at all last season , giving away too many gifts and conceding with a ludicrous number of teams first shot on target Making things hard for ourselves You HAVE to keep it tight even If your not playing your best football , keep in the fight Then youv'e always got a chance , in fact you WILL get a chance , more than one usually in the 2nd half as the opposition tires , so you want to make sure you are 0-0 still when it comes along not already 2 or 3 nil down because you made it the other teams birthday with the cake and presents you were giving out earlier !
Secondly they have superior quality on the bench to take advantage and change things up in these type of game the other team lacks Its that ability AFTER keeping the game tight to be able to bring 3-4 top class players off the bench 2nd half that changes the game especially as the other team tires
I actually have a feeling Pau was carrying something last season I certainly think his metatarsal Injury took a bigger toll than we realised at the time and he just wasn't 100% after it even when he came back for the rest of the season
Where you are measuring success and failure at this level In very small margins a 5% drop off in physical performance can effect you on the field in an actual game like a 50% drop off in your form

This isn't an excuse but that pitch was bad Luke, the pitch was holding the ball up and slowing our play. Possibly a reason for the passing.
