Phil Parkinson’s side were on the backfoot at Portman Road all match but left with a point thanks to resolute defending, meaning the Reds have not lost in six Championship outings.

Here’s what we learned from the stalemate.

1. Arthur Okonkwo is class.

It was a team effort to keep out Ipswich but Okonkwo was at his brilliant best once again between the posts.

The goalkeeper made some vital saves including a brave second half block to deny Chuba Akpom.

Wrexham have kept three clean sheets in a row and Okonkwo has played a huge part in stopping the opposition from scoring.

2. Kieffer Moore was a big miss.

Moore started every league game this season but a hamstring injury ruled him out of the clash with Ipswich.

As well as being top scorer with nine league and cup goals, the Wales international holds the ball up well to bring team-mates into play and he has caused opponents a lot of problems.

A lot of his work up top goes unnoticed and Wrexham are definitely a better side with Moore in the starting X1.

3. A very good point on the road.

This was a very tough test but Wrexham came through it with flying colours.

Two divisions separated Ipswich and the Reds last season and the Tractor Boys are expected to challenge for an immediate return to the Premier League.

Wrexham were on the back foot and had to soak up a lot of pressure but resolute defending ensured they left with a hard-earned point when they could easily have folded.

4. The Championship is extremely tight.

Wrexham are now 14th in the table, just three points away from the play-offs.

Hull City occupy the final place in the play-offs and they are only six points ahead of Blackburn Rovers who are 18th.

String a couple of wins together and teams can shoot up the table but a bad run would also see clubs plunged into trouble.

5. The next two games are at The Racecourse.

Wrexham now have back-to-back home games, with Wednesday night’s clash with Bristol City followed by the visit of Blackburn on Saturday.

After a slow start to the season when they struggled to pick up wins on their own territory, the Reds have clinched victory in their last three league games on home soil.

The Racecourse is back to being a fortress and while they can’t take home wins for granted, two good results this week would do wonders for Wrexham’s league position.
