People act suprised when he was the top scorer in the Premier league for what, 3 seasons (and how many seasons did he finish in the top 3)? He also had the most assists one season. Helped Tottenham to finish 2nd in Premier League and Champions League runner up. Won the golden boot last year. England's all-time top goalscorer. And 32 is still a good age for a football player, especially one that relies mostly on skill and IQ rather than just athleticism. So yeh, people really shouldn't be suprised.
