Post-match press conference with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola after their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United at St James’ Park in the Premier League.

Two second-half goals from Harvey Barnes on 63 and 70 minutes either side of a Ruben Dias equaliser gave Newcastle the win and dealt a blow to City’s title challenge.

Guardiola said Newcastle are always dangerous at home, praised their investment and performance, said City “gave everything” but couldn’t take a result after the international break, and denied blaming officials, stressing the first thing is to congratulate opponents. He reiterated he is never disappointed with this team.

  1. ‪Ignore the score and bent referring, daylight robbery, unnecessary delays, inconsistent decisions, weird patterns emerging in every game, journalists incessantly asking managers questions instead of looking into PGMOL., and focus on the fighting spirit and discipline in this team. ‬Ruben Diaz was inspirational because every action was as if it was the last second of injury time. That’s all you can ask from your players.

  3. No one’s talking about spectacular Doku who’s scored 1 premier league goal in 12 games this season and 7 goals in the premier league in 2 and a half seasons .

  4. Referee let the fouls go so easily at Newcastle side that even shirt pull were ignored what was happening tonali and joulintin made so many bad fouls on our players ankles no yellow but even our players didn’t helped at all very poor game really miss rodri and his movements and passes (nico was perfect in defence but offensively quite poor )

  5. You have failed to win a match when the defenders are the ones with most passes. No attacking football. City defenders are just playing between themselves and are way to slow to pass the ball towards the attacking midfielders. As last year Bernardo Silva is to defensive. Foden/Doku are to slow to get back helping the defenders. Several times we saw them jogging back. When that said the players where not turned on properly and made a lot of mistakes/bad passes. Haaland seemed like he was not really interested. No flow in the play and that makes it harder to score goals too

  6. Absolutely spot on by pep, the talk about Liverpools clearly offside goal is double think , and people have convinced themselves it was wrong .. .nothing has ever been said about palace , and today will be forgotten..

  7. Never will a team have to do less to win the league than Arsenal. They have NO competition. Liverpool are already out of it and Man City aren't winning anything with crap like Doku and Savinho ruining every forward play. The season is over in November.

  8. Dont know who draw s them fucking lines or decides whens a foul not a foul? Oh well 4k it our oil bros finally got one over us. Shit happens, We move on.

  9. Cherki needed to be subbed at half time, he is great on the ball high up the pitch but we needed more dynamic energy,Reijnders would have been a good shout. But city created really good chances and didn’t take them Newcastle did it’s gone we lost let’s go again.
