I know I've cheated but the positions I put 2 guys in I think it will be one or the other. If Joffy plays in the 10 then Joseph will start if Gelhardt is up top he will probably play Klich in the 10 which means Gyabi will start next to Greenwood but Im not sure if he will want Klichs experience in the double pivot. So I can't make my mind up.

I`m not having the starting X1 anywhere near the pitch tonight – pts are vital and Spurs are not in great form so that should be Jesse`s main priority – Robles, firpo, ayling, hjelde, llorente, Darko, Klich, Harrison (Gnoto starts Saturday), Gelhardt, Joseph or Perkins, Greenwood.

& fill the bench with any other peripheral players & U21s. Rest the 1st team proper, period. And as you say cup run would be nice but not the be all & end. Also take the same tact in the FA Cup.
I had argued previously that striker is the most important, but I'm now convinced we need a veteran cb signing who can be the best guy on the back 4. We need someone savvy with pace that can lead the line and keep everyone in position. Koch, Strujik, and Rasmus have the talent but they are often out of position.

I wonder if there are agents in the background pushing Brereton Dias and Lang. Still don't see it happening.Driussi and Djku are new names, will do my research on them.
Do we need a cb? Hjelde returns to LB which frees up Strujik to replace coops , and Charlie to return as the back up with coops. LB seems to be a tricky spot to fill , not many outstanding affordable players around. Wagner could be the best bet.
Hope the youngsters get a good run tonight . Robles will start .

A mix of youth and experience both on the pitch and the bench. So if things go well, we can sub more youth on, or if it's a bit iffy, there's experience to bring on.
I'd go 3-5-2 with Firpo and Gnonto giving us the width.

I would like to see a number of the youngsters playing tonight. The EFL Cup is a free hit to be honest, more concerned about the weekend's game.
Would be leary of Driussi, or any (big money) move from MLS. For every Almiron (and it took him a couple of seasons to get up to speed; granted at a different position) you have several Altidore's. Not saying he couldn't score 10-15 in a season, but probably unlikely (although with the service that Bamford has been getting, my grandmother could probably have had 4 already this season).
Hopeful Firpo gets the start tonight, build up his match fitness and can slot into LB after the break fixing some of our defensive issues (with Struijk moving back to CB)

Hi Ger, I had hoped for a win tonight, but old saying, only a cup game, better off out, concentrate on getting the next 3 points in the league.
Driussi is the beating heart of Austin. I would hate to see him go but honestly do think he’s at a level above the MLS. I might be biased (I am), but he made a hell of a case for being MVP of the league this year and it’s a shame he came in 2nd for that trophy and the golden boot. The prem would be a hell of a jump for him, don’t think he would get above 20 goals there haha. I would be surprised to see him at the 9 because he’s always, as far as I can remember, played the 10 for us. We would be absolute garbage without him though. Either way he’s always come across as a solid guy so hoping for the best for him!
Austin FC fan here. Don't want to see him go but if Leeds gets him (Driussi) they will get a difference maker. Very agile, explosive, strong on the ball, with a great touch. MLS isn't the Premier League, but he should have been the MVP.
