      Going to be honest Gregg deserve the respect for coming clean and trying to handle the issue however as a manager on the national level USA underperformed do I think he should be sacked because of the scandal not in the slightest, do I think he should potentially be sacked because of the USA performance yes cause from how they played any harder opposition in the group stages they wouldnā€™t have got out and potentially been embarrassed

      I think your summary was spot on, it's up for debate whether Gio Reyna himself would of helped the USMNT at the World Cup, I think Berhalters decision to keep him to restricted game time was a football decision based on his lack of time at Dortmund through Injury. So there was absolutely no need for the Reyna's to go behind Greg's back and tell this story to the Director.
      I will say this, the USMNT has a fantastic Midfield and it managed to isolate England in that match, the one thing they are missing is a clinical striker, at the WC Sargent couldn't of scored in a brothel šŸ˜†

      If by some sort of miracle Greg Berhalter comes back as USMNT Coach then itā€™s guaranteed that Gio Reyna will be frozen out of that team so long as he is the coach

      What baffles me so much about this, is the sheer number of other moves Claudio couldā€™ve made that might have worked. Get back in touch with your old friend, pressure him via one of the higher ups to pick Gio, have your wife do something nice for his wife, but he instead chose the one option that would cause the biggest PR storm.

      Important thing to clarify the Reyna's didn't go to the boss. They were talking as family friends. Due to nepotism everyone is basically family there

      Dont care really just happy the fraud is out of the job, he was only given the job because of his brother anyway. A manager with a record of being a failure shouldnt be an international coach

      Gregg Berhalter was a terrible coach, and should have been fired wayyyy before the world cup. The fact the USSF took this long to fire him, and not for that reason, tells you how much of a Joke they are. They will likely hire Wayne Rooney next, and that may not be a good idea.

      It's unfair to drag your past into the contexts of the present. You might've been a bad person due to various factors in life, we're all human beings, we make mistakes. But if a person genuinely made efforts to become an upstanding person, trying to overcome his past then he must be respected not vilified.

      The fact Danielle held onto this info for 30+ years, and Claudio was one of the people pulling for GGG to get the USMNT job, and now she decides to narc on him? Clearly attempted blackmail and the fallout is going to be insane. Like someone else mentioned, Claudio is also the Director in Austin, do they make any moves because of this?       As much as I despise anyone who beats their partner, I cannot convince myself to hate Berhalter. His wife has forgiven him and in his statement he has been honest and he showed that he takes the issue lf domestic violence seriously. He has made a massive mistake, and hell forever have to live with that conscience but I he sees to have honestly tried to better himself

      Gio has talent, no question but the kid isn't healthy. If I recall, he was barely averaging half a game this season when he was playing. Which honestly, as a manager you'd probably struggle to convince yourself to use him other than in short bursts.
      The parents imo have killed his National team career unless he goes absolutely nuts and becomes world class and absolutely irreplaceable in the team.

      As you said this situation is 30 years old, no police were ever involved. The two are married and have kids and have as far as everyone knows been happy together. The fact that they had to bring up something from their lives in which they were fucken 18-19 years old and drunk and fighting kinda says a lot about them if that's the most recent thing they had on the guy.

      These parents just summed up the pay to play parents in a nut shell. OMG MY KID IS AWESOME PLAY HIM OR ELSE BS that started kicking off around the late 2000s. I wouldn't want to risk him being on the team and having to bench him for fear that these 2 would just make something up if they didn't have any dirt on him because of how quickly organizations cut ties these days with any bad PR.

      Between the team's underwhelming World Cup performance and all this Reyna drama, it's hard not to be hurt as a US fan right now. This certainly isn't helping grow the game in a country where it's already got so much competition
