In Qatar, an 18-year-old is the bet for the future of the Socceroos.
Newly signed by Newcastle, he has been touted as Australia’s big name for years to come.

And the trajectory of the promise in the career is one of overcoming.
Born in Egypt, the attacker is the son of Sudanese parents who fled the war in their hometown after having their home invaded.

At the age of six, along with his five other siblings, Kuol moved to Australia, where he fell in love with football.
At just 15 years old, Garang Kuol was promoted to the first team of the Goulburn Valley Suns, Australian rules football’s semi-professional team.

In 2019, he arrived at the Central Coast Mariners, following the path of his brother and ‘guru’ Alou, who currently defends Stuttgart.
The meteoric rise by scoring six goals and giving three assists in 14 games for the Australian team caught the attention of Newcastle, the new billionaire of world football.

After his Australia senior call-ups, Kuol was signed by the Magpies for the current season.
