Luol Deng takes about 6 steps without any kind of violation called.
Either a travel or a carry but jargon aside, you can’t run with the ball like that! After the last dribble was taken, 6 steps occurred (count them) which is not allowed. Even if you disagree on the 6, it is still more than the 2 that is allowed. Also more than the 3 steps that the NBA often times allows and justifies with the “gather” concept.

It wasn't a travel. He took two steps after the gather and prior to the jump shot. The moment of the gather is difficult to tell from the second camera angle, but it can be noticed by looking at the change of the direction of the ball's motion. Also you can tell better from the first camera angle. Excellent play, actually.
It is either a travel or a carry, you can't run with the ball. Forget rules for a moment, just ask yourself, can you run with the ball like that? No, it is a violation of some sort.

This isnt a troll ok. First of all you can take as many steps as you can in a gather dribble. Second after the gather dribble you can take 2 steps for the finish and the after the gather dribble is called complete dribble. Third if your gather dribble is long in the air it could be a carry but you can decide it cause it is obvious. Fourth why did his gather dribble was not counted as carry because he pound the ball hard enough for it to stay long in the air thus his hand is on top of the ball. Thats why you can see some players take 3 steps after a crossover to layup because after you did a crossover the first step will be a gather dribble like you're gathering the ball and the other 2 steps is when you completed the dribble like you've already gathered or completed the dribble. Example of gather dribble like stutter step ,how many steps you take is not counted. But when you completed the dribble and took 3 steps thats a travel. Hope this helps you.
