Diogo Dalot has started all but 2 of Manchester United’s matches in the Premier League so far this season, but he is still struggling to reach his full potential in Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation.

So what is Dalot doing wrong? And how can Amorim help him?

  1. I rarely comment but i feel for dalot i feel likes theres something missing w him for him to give 100% and like i feel like he just needs time but i believe he shouldnt stsrt for now cuz there are times where he is brilliant but rn hes more of a scapegoat for us

  2. I agree that lwb does not suit dalot and he's definitely worse there but the problems in his game are not fixed by playing on the right. He mentally switches off far too often. His offensive output is next to non existent and he never stops crosses coming in. He also has no idea about who he's playing against ever. In terms of such and such is strong at cut in and shooting I better show him down the side, or getting close to stop good crossers

  3. He’s been an ever-present in a large percentage of our victories in the premier league. Dorgu has only started in 2 of our last 11 prem victories.. and he had a red card in the Ipswich game. The other game we won wirh Dorgu is against Chelsea and they had 10 men cor 85 minutes

Dalot has started every game in this unbeaten run. Surely he’s doing something right because we almost always win when he starts at LWB.

  4. I am concerned about Diogo Dalot's form and the team's lack of quality wingbacks. How will the returns of Lisandro Martínez and Luke Shaw affect the defense? I suggest converting Dalot to a defensive midfielder (to rotate with Casemiro/Ugarte) or using him as a RWB in rotation with Amad. Why isn't Amad being tested at LWB with Dalot on the right?

  5. We need a Semenyo type of player in that position.

Dorgu is an immediate fix for the moment…
Another thing is this, we could experiment with Shaw as a WB when Martinez returns the only issue there is we increase is chances of been injured.

Recruitment this January is really key

  6. So the answer to not playing Dorgu, would be Leon or Amass, or even Tyrell. So it's down to Amorim playing favourites despite them not being played in position and is happy to ignore other players or even send them out on loan.

'or play a left winger out there' how did that work out with Garnacho? Wingers don't often like the idea of playing wing back, they don't track back, so no that's not going to work unless you play a back four, and Amorim isn't going to do that.

  7. The issue is he's a soild versatile traditional full back, never been a good attacking player, he's a player you want to cover gaps in the squad but not in this system that requires creativity on the width

  8. I've been very critital of Dalot for years, but if I look past my built up frustration with him, I think you have it completely spot on with 7:08. He looks so scared to make a mistake when he is faced with a challenge. This also leads him to give up too easily when he should trek back and cover his man etc. and why the only time he properly dribbled past anyone the last few years was Trent, in a game where Trent looked like any of us on the internet could walk past him.

  9. Aj. i love you content but i haven’t been able to watch because i block my social media through the work day and have productivity i need to do when im home for the night. im begging you to please start a spotify for creators account and post these episodes as “podcasts”. you can upload video to it as well. Aj i need this you don’t understand. i miss your tactical advice

  10. Please don’t crucify me, but, Luke Shaw can play left wingback. If he stays hit.

Once Licha is fit, Licha, de Ligt, Yoro should be our back three. Then Saw on left and Amad on right. But then Amad leaves for AFCON 😑

  11. Dalot isn't good in attack or defense and him starting is really quite puzzling. I much preferred AWB, who while similarly as bad in attack, was a terrific defender for us until his performances dropped off. I wonder what's happening with Dorgu and Diego Leon.

  12. When Dalot is played as a right fullback, he does sufficiently well, and can even support the attack quite well. But when he's played on the left, he is usually poor all round. Cannot support the attack adequately, nor even defend to the fullest of his abilities. I'm not sure if he's not going to be played as a RWB, should he even be in the first eleven. On the left, he is at best, a last resort emergency LWB. Why has Dorgu suddenly lost his place at LWB? I'd have thought that Dorgu would be given more game time to develop his potential. Yes, his crossing isn't good right now, but with more game time and crossing practise during training, one would expect that he would improve.

  13. Dalot's issue is mental not physical. he's just very slow to respond at the worst possible times. if he's a toe poke away from scoring a goal or stopping a goal being scored he's sure to be ball watching rather than running through the proverbial brick wall to make it happen. same applies when he's defending in space if he's outmanned. he will overthink thus taking himself out of the play rather than committing to pressure or cover as the moment calls for.

  14. i'd almost rather see Cunha play LWB and Mount fill Cunha's position for the time being. Cunha is constantly dropping into the deep third to cover for Dalot as it is. When it's time to sub take Mount out, slide Cunha back up to his attacking position and roll Shaw over to LWB and sub in Heaven or Martinez. Cunha is at least going to give the same effort opposite Amad but not have the same luxury of playing into and off of Mount as Amad does with Mbuemo.

  15. You need Dms pittbuls, and need a better guy than dalot to rotate. Dalot stops the atack flow of MU. You lost a wonder kid to chelsea (quenda) for a bargain. You lost a pitbull than shined with amorim (palhinha) for a bargain. You lost goykeres…You probably will loose hujlmand…. pote from sporting is another guy that would make wonders in MU midfield

  16. I commented this after we won a few games back, most fans didn't want to hear my logic. I'm glad it's now common knowledge that he's ONLY and I mean ONLY positive attribute is throws. Nothing else. Not sure if that's enough according to Amorim to keep starting with him.

  17. Dallot isn't a bad player for me he's very versatile for me he's been fair
I just don't like the pressure our fans mount on our players,he's just been unlucky,it like saying he should be prime Marcelo down that left wing
He's just meant to be average and nothing more

  18. When Amad goes to Afcon, Dalot will play on the right, but I agree that we should look for a left wingback, since we need a player with quality crosses.

  19. Dalot and Dorgu are our biggest weakness. Both on attack and defense.

Can anyone count the amount of good crosses into the box from anyone of them ?

  20. Thank god someone else sees it .. nothing against him ..seems like he loves the club .. but both in attack or defense he leaves a lot to be desired!

  21. Dalot didn't work in ONE game, after 3 impressive games in that same role and we have to cancel him?

    Same on you United fans

    Toxic fan base

  22. What is disappointing is that we had a player who would have been perfect for that role and position in Alvaro Fernandes and we let him leave for so little. I was very excited when we were linked with Mendes briefly last season as he is elite and would have been perfect. I hope we see Dorgu and Leon develop into similar types of players.
