  1. This clearly shows what Haaland's only weapon is: his superior phisique compared to most of the current defenders… when he is up against a robust/agile/agressive defenders then his "mighty" power fades away

  2. Amazing defender, plain and simple.

I sometimes wonder, would Sunderland have gone down had they tried harder to sign him 2015 instead of "can not agree terms", instead he went to Southampton, what a missed opportunity that turned out to be and I do honestly think he would have secured the leaky defence we had the following season.

All ifs and buts I guess, onwards and upwards, best of luck to the guy.

  3. This is actually a huge defensive error and Virgil was lucky Haalands a 1 dimentional striker, a more nimble and skillful player would have turned him inside out. You Never allow your opponent to determine his own direction like this, causing you to have to turn over your shoulder leaving you with no view of him or the ball for a brief moment, you allows show him one sode but be ready to go the other way. In that brief moment hes not in your view, a top player will simply change direction, leaving you in no mans land. This is defending 101.

  4. This is why van Dijk is so good with terrier defenders like Robertson and Bradley. He's very good at forcing the strikers move – and picking up the pieces from his teammates
