Disaster for Arsenal ahead of their Carabao Cup clash with Brighton?
Mikel Arteta has confirmed William Saliba is OUT, after the 24-year-old defender was mysteriously hauled off at half-time against Crystal Palace. The manager said, “he won’t be involved this match.”
And it gets worse. Martinelli, who limped down the tunnel after the Palace game, is also set to miss out, with Arteta saying the game is “going to be too early for him.”
So, who fills the shoes of Arsenal’s defensive rock and their electric Brazilian winger? With Saliba unavailable, Cristhian Mosquera is almost guaranteed to start in the heart of defence. And we could even see Bayer Leverkusen loanee Piero Hincapie get his FIRST Arsenal start.
But it’s not all bad news. Arteta confirmed that Saka, Rice, and Calafiori are all available for the clash. Is this enough to get past Brighton? Let me know your predictions in the comments!
