Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said his side’s Champions League hopes are ‘still alive’ despite their 1-0 defeat at home to Ajax in the first leg of the semi-finals.
Speaking after the match, Pochettino added that he was not part of the decision to send Jan Vertonghen back on after a clash of heads with his teammate that eventually ended his involvement in the game.

  1. I hope Jan Vertoghen is alright! The way he had to be helped at the touchline and how he was stumbling, were it not for Mauricio holding his torso, he'd be face flat on the turf.

  2. Pochettino trying to pass on the blame you the Doctor what a disgrace the buck stops with him look what happend to Ugo Ehiogu and Ryan Mason all this idiot carers about was himself not the player Jan could have died UEFA have to take the strongest action

  4. Shocking they tried to let Vertonghen play on. Maybe he claimed he was ok, but pretty much any observer should have been able to easily recognize he was far from ok, especially trained medical staff and a manager who have doubtless seen people get concussions before.

  5. Scandalous the club-doctors let him get back on the pitch…. in Boxing 8 seconds down is a knock-out. Think he was longer down than that, so should be the end of the game for him….
    Hope he is ok though…
