A cruel exit for 10 player Team Melli from the quarter finals thanks to AFC referee Benjamin Williams. Carlos contemplating whether or not to extend his contract with the IFF, and stay as Iran’s head coach for another 4 years. A new and young Iranian team heading into the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Why is it that Iran always play dirty? Every time Iran play Iraq we expect the Iranians to deploy their dirty tricks behind the ref's back. Nearly crushed the leg of one of our players in 2019 – again, behind the ref's back. The one time your cynicism gets caught and you make such a fuss about it! It's a real shame because you have a team that is talented enough to win without these dirty tricks.
