Ipswich Town host West Brom at Portman Road on Saturday in their upcoming Championship clash.

Ipswich Town were beaten 3-0 at home by Charlton Athletic in their last Championship outing. ITFC had 30 shots against the Addicks but weren’t able to get anything from the game.

The Tractor Boys find themselves down in 14th place in the table after their first 11 fixtures. They are five points off the play-offs.

Kieran McKenna’s side were relegated from the Premier League last season. They finished in the bottom three along with Leicester City and Southampton.

West Brom lost 2-1 away at Watford on Wednesday night. Isaac Price got WBA’s goal at Vicarage Road against the Hornets but they couldn’t find an equaliser.

The Baggies are sat in 10th position in the division. They are only a point off the top six behind Charlton Athletic and Stoke City.

Ryan Mason was appointed as their head coach this past summer to replace Tony Mowbray. He left his role in the backroom staff team at Tottenham Hotspur to take on his first number one managerial role in the game at The Hawthorns.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

Harry Mail

Ipswich Town haven’t been able to find any sort of consistency so far this season. ITFC are aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League.

“Their 3-0 loss to Charlton Athletic raised eyebrows across the Football League. They will be desperate to bounce back with three points this weekend.

West Brom have also been a bit hit and miss so far in this campaign. WBA can’t seem to string a set of results together.

“Ryan Mason is a young and inexperienced manager and is still learning on the job. This is a tough game to call but I think the hosts might just edge it in the end.”

Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-1 West Brom

James Ray

Ipswich Town simply have to leave that Charlton Athletic loss in the past. It was one to forget for all on Tuesday night, and they can’t dwell on it.

“If they do, West Brom are the sort of side that can punish them. Isaac Price is among the star players for ITFC to keep an eye on, though WBA have struggled with consistency issues of their own.

“A return to winning ways would be really valuable for the hosts, but I’ve got a feeling the visitors grind out a good point on the road. It would mark more frustration for the hosts.”

Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-1 West Brom
