Alphonse Areola (born 27 February 1993) is a French goalkeeper] who plays for La Liga club Villarreal, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain. Areola finished his formation with Paris Saint Germain, after playing for INF Clairefontaine and Petits Anges. In July 2009, he signed a professional deal with PSG. On 18 May 2013, Areola made his first team debut, replacing Salvatore Sirigu in the 48th minute of a 3-1 home win over Brest. PSG had already won the league title, and their opponents were already relegated.[1] He went on to make a start the following weekend, in a 3-1 away win against Lorient, being substituted after 61 minutes for Ronan Le Crom.[2]
