Raya handed a new Arsenal contract
Latest from Sky Sports’ Sam Blitz:

David Raya was given an improved contract by Arsenal earlier in the summer.

It understood his wages were increased but the length of the deal – until 2028 with a one-year option – remained the same as the previous one.

It was agreed earlier this year but not announced by the club – and has been done to reflect his importance to the team.

Arsenal are also understood to have made a similar move with Leandro Trossard’s contract earlier this year; improving the Belgian’s salary but keeping the length of his deal the same until 2027.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said last week that he is hopeful Jurrien Timber will extend his contract.

William Saliba, Gabriel, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have all recently signed new deals at the club.

Could Arsenal move to Wembley temporarily?
Arsenal are planning a redevelopment of the Emirates Stadium which could see them move to Wembley while the work takes place, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The north London home seats just over 60,000 fans but has been overtaken in recent years by West Ham and Tottenham in terms of capacity, making it the third-largest club stadium in the capital.

Arsenal have played home matches at Wembley before – hosting all of their Champions League games during the 1998/99 and 1999/00 seasons.

‘For value, Odegaard and Timber need to be included’
Arsenal fanalyst Harry Symeou on Sky Sports News:

“Gabriel is definitely up there. He’s been incredible since he came into the club and has improved as well. For me, he’s one of the best centre-backs in the world, at the moment.

“There’s a few honourable mentions too.

“For value, Jurrien Timber has neem an unbelievable signing. He’s bounced back after a horrible injury and has looked brilliant. he can also play across the back line.

“Martin Odegaard goes to the top of the list. His signing has been such good value for a player that has been such a key part of Arsenal’s elevation as a team.

“Gabriel Jesus and Oleksanr Zinchenko can also be included. People may laugh at that but they both elevated the level when they arrived at Arsenal. They were catalyst signings.”

Harry Symeou’s top three Arsenal signings since 2020:

1. Martin Odegaard

2. Jurrien Timber

3. Declan Rice

Jesus a rogue shout for best signing?
Sky Sports Nick Wright:

Gabriel Jesus should be in the conversation for Arsenal’s best signing of the last five years. Hear me out.

Injuries have prevented the Brazil international from showing the kind of sensational form demonstrated in his first few months at the club consistently. His total of 26 goals in 96 games is undeniably modest.

But his impact following his arrival from Manchester City in 2022 was transformative. The Gunners went from Champions League challengers to title contenders. He was the catalyst. Mikel Arteta said he changed their world.
