Los groguets, tras mandar y ser superiores en el primer tiempo, vieron cómo la Juventus reaccionaba en los primeros minutos de la segunda mitad con dos tantos de Gatti y Conceiçao. Espoleados por un impresionante ambiente y una afición entregada, el Submarino fue con todo a por el empate, que llegó para alegría de toda la afición.
