Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva was once a fearsome heavyweight in MMA, a fighter who stood out for his sheer size, power, and heart. But behind the scenes, a rare disease — acromegaly — was destroying his body. After suffering 13 brutal knockouts, Silva kept stepping into the cage, not for glory, but for survival. This is the heartbreaking downfall of a man who couldn’t stop fighting… because he needed the money.

  1. He was once a monster in the cage… but after 13 knockouts, a rare disease, and a broken system…all he had left was survival.
🧠 Do you think he should’ve been allowed to keep fighting? Or was it already too far gone?

  2. I was playing football at a very high level. Anyways, i got an illness called ulcerative colitis aged 20 (my digestive system attacked itself. I now have an ostomy bag) It has ruined my life. I looked after myself, ate well, played sport 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day, sometimes 3. Now i can barely do anything alone.

  3. This man is a legend of MMA. I have so much respect for the pure display of heart he displayed for his fans in so many great fights. Who can forget that comeback KO against Alistair Overeem. He was the first to defeat Fedor if I recall… although both were past their prime at that point but he was able to mount him and ground and pound Fedor. Someone known for their standup was often overlooked as a grappling threat but… he sure as heck was. Thank you. Much respect for Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. I hope you find a better path now that things have become more complex. You have nothing to prove to anyone; MMA fighters are ripped off. It’s absolutely tragic that they don’t look out for these stars that made them so much money and carried the brand on their backs… There is a trend-setting, dominant company that is pure corruption. Leveraging people with a fighting spirit with a spotlight to fight for next to nothing… forcing them to hold a full time job while training as a pro is pathetic with all the money they rake in off the very real sacrifices these fighters face in both the present and future.

  4. The thing I don't understand is everybody talks about him having acromegalia and his pituitary gland producing too much growth hormone what is growth hormone have to do with testosterone there are two completely different chemicals in our body to him having surgery to stop the pressure on his pituitary gland will stop pushing out all of that growth hormone but either way it has nothing to do with your testosterone which comes from your nut sack which if you don't know that that is exactly where your testosterone comes from tell him using testosterone for hormone replacement is absolute dog ship bullshit lies and it's stupid people like Joe Rogan who think they're freaking intelligent and an idiot think he's intelligent and listen to this shit that comes out of his mouth as if he's God have no fucking clue what he's talking about human growth hormone is completely fucking different than testosterone
