Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli backs striker Viktor Gyokeres to be a huge hit at the Emirates, despite going a month without scoring. The Brazilian also spoke about his role within the Gunners squad and the competition for places as Mikel Arteta’s men hunt for the big trophies this season.

TIMESTAMPS:

0:00 Intro

0:05 It’s a dream for me. I always try to give my best to help the team.

2:29 I want to play. I want to start every single game. And as I said, I’m going to help the team as much as possible.

0:51 We had some chances in the first half. We could have scored, but we didn’t.

1:21 If you want to win the big trophies, you have to win at home and not concede goals. And we’ve been doing really, really well at this point.

1:38 Gyokeres? We are really happy with him. We trust him.

2:17 He’s great. We trust him and as much as possible, we are going to give him the ball to score.

2:33 It’s really good to play with Martin there because he’s always trying to find you when we make the movement.

3:12 We play for Arsenal. Every tournament and thing that we go, we go to win.

3:37 It’s massive and the club deserves to win. So, we are going to keep trying our best to win.

3:56 We’ve got a huge squad now, so let’s try to use this squad.

4:24 It’s always been great with great players and persons as well. And with the boys that came in now, it’s the same, even more.

4:59 We play for Arsenal. We have to use every single one that is available, you know. So, if someone gets injured, we’re going to try to use someone else.

5:26 I’m not going to complain to have Vini and Rodrygo and Rafinha playing with me. I’m really happy to have them there and happy to have the players that we have here as well.

  1. After months of telling us that the Coventry City flop Shockeres is "a baller and the final piece of the puzzle" the online Arsenal fans are now making excuses for the clown 😅

Come back Eddie Nketiah and Raheem Sterling…All is forgiven l[oooooool

  2. Every big club should have a super sub. He is our super sub our game changer.
But to keep subs fits they have to be in starting 11 Every few couple games

  3. love martinelli but he needs to improve his positioning and he needs look around before he receives the ball. he can get so much better but many times i see him taking up positions where hes in the way of the other players. he has to be more aware. otherwise i think hes a good player.

  4. Gyokeres is solid and warrior he is doing great job . They just need to feed him with more forward passes like he used to get in sporting .
Im happy to have him in our team

  5. His voice, his mentality, his personality is so humble, come on Gabi we believe you and who’s blaming on you show them what you can do,I trust you Gabi and love you.

  6. Funny rivalry simmering here, Gyokeres arrival has actually benefited Martinelli alot so far. Many of the runs and passes intended for Gyokeres up front, who's lacks the pace to get there, are ending up perfectly suiting Martinelli who's way faster, and he’s thriving. Marinelli nows your chance lad

  7. Gyokeres is currently a battle ram, once the team clicks – he'll get his goals – but he didn't choose Arsenal as a project to score a goal every game – he chose Arsenal to win trophies with his input.

  8. Give Gyokeres time he’s a good link up player in the past few games and is creating chances for the wide players. Look at Wirtz he’s creating nothing and not scoring goals or getting assists. I’m confident that Gyokeres will bag 20 goals.

  9. Although Gyokeres is not scoring but I really like his link up play. He is improving day by day and is an amazing work rate. Goals will come but I am happy as long as others score as well.

  10. Our fickle fanbase wanted him sold 🤢 he's literally been one of the shining lights of the Arteta era. Following some injuries he lost his edge a little but he's coming back and will be stronger than ever. I think minimum 20 G/A this season from him.
