  1. i feel bad for captain america because ive seen how toxic american fans can be toward their own players. if he misses a sitter in qatar they'll be crapping on him for generations

  2. I'm no fan of either of these coaches, but I'll give Southgate this – he came closer to straight out saying what is happening to Pulisic at Chelsea when he said "sometimes he's had coaches that believed in him and sometimes he's had to battle." I was irritated with Tuchel for selling him short… never giving him a run of more than 3 starts… putting him on the bench at the UCL final when he was largely responsible for getting them there. But now? Holyfookincrap! Potter is way worse. I've given up on him and Chelsea giving Pulisic a chance to show his quality. After the World Cup he'll go somewhere where he's valued and used.

  3. I can't believe the idiot interviewer put Pulisic in the same sentence as Rooney and Beckham. What an absolutely dumb question.

Southgate, of course, wasn't about to give any locker room wall quotes. He did a nice job.

  4. Stop calling Pulisic 'Captain America'
The only Captain America forever is Landon Donovan.

Come up with a new name, you guys lack of creativity ceases to amaze me.

  5. Come on people. He was very complimentary. Pulisic and Gio Reyna are the most talented Americans I've seen yet. But 90% of English football fans want to see Americans get humbled. Especially when we Americans are talking smack. Few people can stand up to that. Clint Dempsey could. He had an F-you attitude with anyone and everyone. He wasn't groomed in the American soccer country club. He learned to resent his fan base at an early age. He didn't need em.

  6. US team has an arrogance that doesn't befit them. They should remember they missed out to the previous world cup losing to a terrible Trinidad team. They should keep their head down and make a good World Cup rather than act like they belong amongst the greats

  7. USMNT? Why not USNT or US team? People aren't getting the like of Pulisic and Reyna mixed up with women are they? Lol. We don't call England EMNT, why? Because it looks ridiculous 😂

  8. If this WC gets less or more views in the USA than previous ones, that would reflect on how soccer/football has really grown in the US, because it's the first one happening during NFL season

  9. South Gate is low football IQ
England is in a weak group and they should pass group stage with 9 points and +6 goals even with him as a coach … anything less just confirms how England always chokes and can’t win when the marbles are up for grabs …. I think they may be top 16 but definitely not too 8

Our coaching at USMNT is weak , we will be lucky to make it out of group

  10. Southgate’s taken the team to a WC semi and a Euro final, not too shabby in my book. As a Brit/US citizen and long time FL resident, my observation is that the American public only takes an interest in the US teams (men and women) when they’re in a WC. It’s not an indictment on American fans, its just reality. The NFL, MLB and NBA will always come first. There isn’t a soccer culture in the US because it doesn’t have a long history.
