All it takes is one Southgate and United will be relegated. If that happens I will be happy. This club destroyed Van Persie, Van Gaal, Ronaldo, Solksjaer, Amorim, Rooney, Di Maria and so many more. The only justice would be Southgate and Relegation.

At the end of the day, Southgate would stop the bleed and lay decent foundations as he did with England. If in 5 years, Man United finish second and come runner-ups in big tournaments under Southgate, he will have done a good job. He's not a competition-winner, but he will get United to the cusp. There's no overnight fix.

You glorified and were so happy with Ten Haag and Amorin, yet turn down Southgate. This is why people hate Man Utd fans – this belief you deserve the greatest and the best. Take away Ferguson and your history is level with Villa and Tottenham.
Dan Ashworth was right. Amorim was not the right man and Southgate was. Ashworth knew the position United where in as a club and knew what the answer was to stabilise it. He was the only one at United who was able to look at the cold hard facts and not look at it through rose tinted glasses thinking they are better than what reality suggests

Southgate’s league football management record was hopeless, Steve MaClaren was a far better manager for Middlesbrough.
We went through all this when we lost to City, speculating about Amorim’s future and listing replacements, then we beat Chelsea and it all calmed down again. Another defeat and off a go again. Rinse and repeat for the next few weeks/months. Amorim isn’t going anywhere, yet.
