JUDE BELLINGHAM AND DECLAN RICE ARE JUST ATHLETES!

  1. I've watched football for as long as these guys and in my opinion this is high level nostalgia. To suggest that players of past generations were more technical is bias, for me this generation has many more technical players making it difficult to standout. Let's use Ian Wright as an example, played Sunday league until 21 but was still able to reach the pinnacle in a short space of time, suggesting that the difference between league 1 and the prem wasn't a big jump whereas today the jump from championship to Prem is huge. For every Matt le Tissier there were at least 50 bang average players.

  2. I hear you it is more of an athletes game. But to be fair I do still rate Bellingham & Rice. To conclude you do have to have that Athleticism just being a technical is not enough. From my experience playing football also that work horse thing & covering ground is expected.

  3. Athletes are needed in the CDM position. They have to go box to box for 90 minutes. The coaches should work with them to improve them technically. Problem is that most coaches want athletes in every position.

  4. Nostalgia baiting at its finest. Reality is at the elite level basically everyone can put their foot on the ball and control the game. Fullbacks, strikers even centerbacks can be creative fulcrums of a team in a given situation, which means the need of a classical 10 is much less now. Actually go back and watch an elite level European game of football from the mid 2000’s and you’ll see a far more attritional and long ball orientated game then the games of today. Marketing of stars in 2000’s has lead people to believe the game back then was something that is wasn’t.

  5. People actuallly compare jude to ZIDANE 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🗣🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🤦🤦🤦🤦🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤳👀🙏

  6. When somebody asks me if I believe Salah is an elite footballer, I just tell them, "Salah is an elite athlete". Same with Mbappe, he's an elite athlete and so is Halland. Your old school technical baller won't even make the bench of any top team these days because he won't run around and tackle the ball. Somebody like Zidane or Ronaldinho would end up like Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho in modern football.

  7. If Noni played in Spain he would either be a full back or a wing back. My man's more suited to that position than being in the attack where technical ability and football intelligence is needed more.
