An independent regulatory commission hearing, which took place following an FA investigation, found four charges to be “not proven”. Written reasons detailing the commission’s finding were published on Wednesday, calling into question the FA’s decision not to call in independent expertise on the key area of betting data. As a result, Lucas Paqueta could sue the English FA over his failed £85m transfer to Manchester City, as confirmed by his lawyers Alastair Campbell and Nick De Marco

He can now be himself and play again without looking over his shoulders, im hoping he has a blinding season for us, and he puts the pressure back on them with suing them. But this looks bad on the FA, and now they are gunning for Man City for 115 charges. All i can see now is they are going to mess that up, this was one case. What are they going to be like with 115 at once? lol its only going to get worse for them.

The FA has been incompetent for decades so its not entirely surprising. I think I commented around the time it originally broke that they're too useless to put a good case together

Seems there are grounds to sue. The FA were obliged to investigate but that’s it. They didn’t have to press charges and they certainly shouldn’t have leaked it. The report seems to clearly show their actions were reckless and their recklessness had a direct financial detriment to Paquetta and West Ham and caused Paquetta emotional and mental stress.

We have a right to be angry, Paqueta is one of our own. If the club is really a community than its players are a significant part of that community when one of our own is subjected to criticism or in this case outright disrespect and frankly evil behavior, we can and should feel angry, Paqueta is one of our own. I’m angry.

From what I understand, they had almost no evidence and just dragged it out. It’s a disrespectful to Paqueta that his career has been altered so badly for essentially nothing

Heads should roll at the FA. If you are going to devastate a young man’s life and destroy his career you need incontrovertible proof. When I saw the charges against him I couldn’t believe how flimsy it was. I remember thinking “is that it??”
And they dragged it out for 2 years, during which Lucas was trying to live his life with the Sword of Damocles hanging over him. Hats off to him for turning up to play and doing his best for the team.
This whole sorry saga is a disgrace, a stain on the English game.

Well said Geo. More evidence of FA corruption. We all know if Paqueta played for one of the bigger teams they wouldn't of bothered investigating!
scandalous accusations, almost feels like someone had a personal issue with the player or West Ham from the FA and they tried to use this as a vent for frustration.
I feel a lot for Paqueta, 2 years of false accusations and then who knows how long to try and sue the FA. If I was in his shoes that last thing I would want now is more legal battles.
He should sue the FA concerning the mental health issues that the way the FA treated him over last 2 years.

We get the old Paquetta for this season,I be glad he stays at least this season,if he stays beyond that with us great but in another senareo we get 75 to 85 Mill then from a Man City or Madrid etc and goes on to win trophies I'd not begrudge him ,also David Moyes you a decent man and football man,
