Janssen returned from a foot injury on Monday as he played 45 minutes for Tottenham Under 23s in 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
Kazaiah Sterling’s second half opener for Spurs was cancelled out by a 25-yard stunner from Liam Coyle after 65minutes.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will hold talks with striker Janssen this week as the club weigh up whether to sell the Dutchman this month.
The 24-year-old striker was due to make his first appearance of the season in the U23 clash against Liverpool last night after recovering from a long-term foot problem.
And the forward could yet revive his flagging Spurs career if he can prove his worth to Pochettino this month.
Having spent last season on loan at Fenerbache, the 24-year-old was expected to be sold in the summer – but the injury scuppered those plans.
Spurs are still keen on offloading Fernando Llorente or Janssen this month – but there is a feeling the Spaniard maybe easier to shift.
And provided Janssen’s return goes according to plan he could still be given an opportunity to resurrect his flagging Tottenham career.
