“A worrying situation” | Konate contract latest as Liverpool impasse continues | @davidlynchlfc
@davidlynchlfc provides the latest updates regarding Ibrahima Konate’s contract situation as the Liverpool defender is linked with a move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Konate leaving would not really be a worry imo. He is not leader enough anyway to succeed VVD in that role, and as a second CB he is replaceable. I would be worried about his performances in the second half of the season. He has shown already that he is not the most consistent player and he also does not come across as the most mature and professional, so if he is on his way out his level might well drop. So Id say bringing in Guehi in january would still be a good thing if Konate has still not signed by then. Use that time to bed him in, keep Konate Sharp and replace Konate if he drops off

Worrying how?
If he wants to go, let him go. Guehi is doing the exact same thing at Palace and we will probably benefit from it.
He's not doing an Isak (and we also benefitted from that).
This is the sport. Accept it.
